This game is really tedious and uninteresting. It's basically just a generic platformer so far, and after playing for about 30 minutes with my girlfriend we both just got bored and gave up. It is no Epic Yarn.
Might be fun with 4 people, but I just think it'd be cluttered.
Bosses require absolutely zero skill or thought.
Fuck that's disappointing. :(
And I'm certain its not as good as Donkey Kong Country Returns. Then again very few games are that good. Hm... Dazz what did you think of that game?

I've heard a lot of good things about the game, and it's gotten good reviews, so I wouldn't base my entire view of a game on one guy's opinion.
It apparently gets harder later on, so eh.

Really guys don't let that stop you. It's going to be awesome and I'm getting it for Christmas.
Played it for a while. I have mixed feelings about it - It's cool, good Kirby Superstar-like gameplay and all but also feels more of the same. I'll need to play it some more before passing judgement.

sorry for that, I misread the post quite bad uugh
have a DK plush to make up for this mess
Welp, I did a quick play of the first world (and I mean quick; it took about 20-30 minutes at most). It seems to be a simple amalgamation of several other Kirby games, featuring Kirby Super Star's ability system, a few level and world design things taken from Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and the collection aspect of Kirby 64. Level designs are pretty straightforward; you literally can just run through the first 4 levels.
Of course, I'm not sure 4 levels and fight against Whispy (please don't say this is a spoiler, because if you know Kirby at all, you know Whispy is the first boss) is enough to judge the whole game (and if it were, I'd say it's a decent Kirby game, fairly mindless as it is). Though, it is certainly the easiest first world I've ever played. There also really is that feel of "same old same old" that has been around since KatAM.
@Dazz, really, all main Kirby games are pretty generic platformers.
Even though this game is pretty easy, I'm still enjoying it.
I beat the game and let me tell you, it gets better, much better, starting around world 5... uh, I'm not going into details, just trust me, it's worth getting at least that far.
Also, Ice world has a neat little DK reference.
EDIT- Final boss fight, imo, was amazing, hands down one of my favorite boss fights ever, especially without abilities.

HA! You saw that? Yeah that's what made me think of mentioning DKCR. This game is just reminding me how much better that game is.
It still doesn't stop me from loving this one though. It's good for what it is and I enjoy it dearly.
I think this game is better when you ignore the gear things. I mean, trying to get them is a pain as you constantly have to switch to another ability, and there usually isn't any flexibility with it. You either have this exact ability or you don't get the gear (not always, but fairly often). It's more fun to just play through without stressing over them.
Hm not for me. The reason I love DKCR is two things: Challenge and Atmosphere. Kirby has very little compared to DKCR.
