Hm kind of wished Donkey Kong: King of Swing was on that list. That game needs more exposure!
or even one of the Donkey Kong Country ports, most likely 3 since it actually had new material.
What's with all the hate towards Mario vs Donkey Kong? I played the shit out of that game
its not as fun as mario or as creative as donkey kong and the rending looks bad

It's the sequel to Donkey Kong 1994.

I don't get how that makes it more fun, creative, or pretty.

video game sequel =/= will be good.
please provide a better reason of why you think Mario vs. DK is good otherwise I'm just going to go back to thinking why didn't golden sun get on this list.
I took that comment as "its the sequel to a game not as good as mario or donkey kong so that makes sense", not as like a counter argument to my statement

It's a fantastic time killer.

Probably because it's much much easier to release first party games for free, because Nintendo don't have to pay anyone, they can just put them up. To put Golden Sun up would mean they would have to make a deal with the developers to allow them to put it up for free. Hence most of the games listed are first party Nintendo games.
man.
Yoshi's Island is probably the biggest nostalgia trip ever.
I told myself I would download it when it eventually came out on Virtual Console, and then they gave it to me for free. God bless. The levels, music, EVERYTHING is as I remember. Perfect.
I'm also really glad that Sacred Stones was released. It's not my favorite Fire Emblem by any means, but it's a great title and I really wanted to play through it again! Check this one out guys!
Wario Land 4 never gets old for me.

Well I thought it was pretty innovative for a 2004 GBA game to have Mario performing actions he, at the the time, only did in his 3D games such as side jumping, and also new stuff like handstand jumping.
For what it's worth, the Mario VS DK series didn't really hits its stride until it went the Minis route, making it a more unique experience.

You are like the fifth person to say that. And yet, it will require Camelot's agreement or something to bring the game to the ambassador list.. and this game has quite a rep ya know.
Quite happy with the list anywhoo, currently plowing through Metroid Fusion~
I'm surprised so many of you dislike Mario vs. Donkey Kong. I love Donkey Kong '94, and from what little I've played of MVS.DK it seems like it's pretty much the same thing.

Just updated graphics. I think Donkey Kong 1994 had more levels though.
