The image is pillowshaded.
It's easier to fix if you have a set lightsource, maybe try using the lightning in the back as such?

@Gors: Actually, by that point I was using your image from the Fighter's resource for the eyes, because after Vipershark's comment, I looked at your Love ref and it had sunglasses on. I did try to get your mouth to curve up like that, but rather less sucessfully. Sorry about that.
Do you want me to change mine based on yours, or do you want it to stay as you have it?
@ SBZ: I like the red/black colors and the background, but as Baegal said, it is pillowshaded, I agree with using the lightning as a light source, but you could always have an imaginary nmoon lighting it from another spot if you like. Thanks for helping. Also, would you mind making it a mugshot?

Mind explaining the light a bit more?

There is a thread in this site that can explain shading way better than I can, hold on a sec while I find it.
It is called the spriting dictionary, it is up with the important ones.
Okay, I don't know how to put in a link to it, but I suppose that you could just hit backspace and then find it, sorry.
Anyways, that looks much better, it isn't pillowhaded as far as I can tell.

Okay, my computer is acting very strange, Paint continues to freeze up every once and a while, and the internet has started to freeze as well. Furthermore, it takes several minutes for some pages to load, no matter what wifi I use (there are three available to me here). It took me four tries to get onto this page again. Anyways, I might be unable to respond to anything for however long this problem persists, so this might be good-bye for a while.
I am staying on this page, but even refreshing can freeze it sometimes, so I don't know if that will work.

Quick, unfinished person post while my computer is running, I have started on [robo 9]'s new face.

You should probably remove that antenna connecting the dot to his head, otherwise he just looks like Previous with a missing antenna and squared head.

I can honestly say I've never drawn with an antennae that connects his small floating atomic bomb to his head.

That's what you get when you go stealing my blueprints as if they were open source. ;P

In previous versions, I had only one antenna and sometimes I had a blocky head. A long time ago I also had legs...



Perseus, I kinda think your headband should not bend upwards that much at the back of the head. Besides that, it looks quite nice

Does this look pillowshaded to you guys? It looks that way to me, but I don't want him to have much of a texture, as he is a shaded version of a slate grey.
