Ah, okay. Well, the only advice I can give is that your fire seems... straightforward? I don't know what's a good word for it. You're separating the flames into simplistic "blades", the fire pokemon uses seems to be a bit more complex than that. The other thing is that your fire is mainly one shade with the dark shade mainly being used for outline, in Moltres' exmaple you can see how the dark/light shades have a (roughly?) equal distribution. Hopefully my attempt at conveying my thoughts makes sense to you!
tbh, that armadillo guy's shell doesn't look like rocks

it looks like round coins or plates, but not rocks. Try using more pointier, grittier shapes. Also I'm not sure about its perspective. I think you've figured this by now but the tail's function is to give the animal stability, so you need to make sure it doesn't look so odd it'd topple over. Same with the little guy.

The giraffe is weird because... it doesn't look like one. Give it a longer neck, longer legs etc. to show it's a giraffe. The fire also camouflages the neck's width, giving the illusion it's stouter.

Use a more erratic pattern for fire, too. You're making it in blades as X0_000 said, and it ends up looking like red/orange hair in the end. Make more particles and uneven shapes to represent flames.

tl;dr exaggerate on the features, pokémon are in a way caricatures of real life animals.

wait

welp, there ware nothing saying that the plates were supposed to be rocks ownde @ me

anyway will try helping you with some of those when I'm at home
Yeah, the plates on the water-type are just that - plates. He's a ground subtype.

The issue with the giraffe is the max dimensions for gen 3 are 64x64 and it's already almost breaking those dimensions. The only way I could really fix it would be to make his body smaller. Maybe...

I'll do some work on the fire later.

idc if I get into TFR or not I just wanted to make an idle animation

should probably mention I didn't add the tusks/earrings because the sprite is cluttered enough as is
I'll drop this here

if you make your own sprites, and they're good, you're more than welcome to participate in TFR c:

so yes

this will be finished once i fix everything that's wrong
the hair bugs me. It's as if they aren't following the skull's curve. The stings are almost vertical when it should be a curve representing the skull's circumference. They also should cast a stronger shadow on her forehead.

The arms need work; I can't put it on words very well, but they don't represent the muscles that well imo. I'd suggest looking for muscle references and/or nude models, whichever you want.

the pattern on the horns should follow the circumference's radium and the horns themselves should be aligned; it looks kinda lopsided.

You pattern works are great, but if you don't pay attention to these details, it'll end up feeling like a professional painter painting on children's coloring book.

HUGE wip obviously.

zero two is cool

I'm not sure if I'm even going to finish this. I just started blocking in rough shades using dawnbringer's palette as a placeholder and I kind of lost all my motivation.
Zero Two is the soul of a Lovecraftian monstrosity... Ofcourse he's cool!
HNNNNNGH PLEASE FINISH THIS!!!
But yeah, are you gonna add Ribbon? Big Grin
Minor work on 0-2
