and your stuff looks p. good, but could you darken the background so Mario's eyes/gloves stand out more?

I think marios face looks too much like luigis.

I picture a Mario version of bit trip runner with those.

Looks fine to me. I'd like to see theses animated though.

Are you trying to imitate Legend of princess style? But without shading?
