I will, just not right now. Programming and officially tired.
I can't tomorrow because my friend is coming over.
But on the weekend? Eeyup, I can do it then.

It's a MLP.

((Welp, I have to go eat dinner...
every time i read your posts you leave me rather confused about what are you really trying to do with this.

is this a sprite? is this just an drawing,do you really want feedback on this or you'll justs witch to another subject when things will get out of hands.

That's a good question.
I know it would be good for me to get some criticism, but really I think I want to get better by myself first before presenting the crap I have.
So... I'm not sure :/
start small, work your way to finish something and then move on the next subject. jumping on something new every time you get stuck would only lead you to nowhere.

This still remains, what are you trying to sprite/draw. Whats your refrence. nd start smaller as Meta has said.

I tried downsizing Rainbow Dash and fixing it, and failed epically. Then my computer crashed and the file got corrupted. So now I can't open it. -.-
So in the meantime I did this. What do you think?
Outline was looking great, but the end product is marred by jagged lines, and the shading. Also it's left eye shouldn't be visible if it's under that fur. I'd take another stab at it with the sketch, the sketch is looking very nice.
So do you suppose I should go back to the sketch and retry the outline all over, or should I fix the jagged lines?
I used the curve tool in MS Paint, and now that I look back at it, it is quite jagged. Also, could you tell me where the shading went wrong?
Along with the outlining, it just comes off as flat, and there's nothing really dynamic about it.
Do I have any way you suppose I fix that, other than the jagged lines?
I'm really quite new to shading.
That may coexist with the fact it is too big. But I've been doing you know, big art pieces for a while now, and I can't seem to get myself to downsize, though I'm trying.
One tip I have is to try not and use pure black as an outline, I'm not very savvy on terms, but try hueshifting, http://spriters-resource.com/community/s...?tid=13868 , it's in the dictionary, and it's a very useful technique. Just keep at it, it took me a long time and a lot of work to get where I am in spriting and I'm nowhere as near as radular as most on here Tongue
Stop using the curve tool as a whole and manually pixel those outlines.
Derek Yu's pixel tut:He talks about lines

Agreed. Try using more shades around the base of the leg and bottom of the stomach. The Tail looks pretty good, but if you want the tail to be fluffy, then you need add more volume and size, but if you want it to be like your reference kitten, then it needs to have a more consistent breadth.

More shades and tints are needed, and the tint on the cats head is a bit to far over to the right(?), The size is okay, and the jaggies really are something you should concentrate on.

The sprite dictionary is something we both need to look at, and something most of us should remember to look at. And Radular/Action, your pretty damn goodWink
Thanks guys. I have a lot to do today and some commitments to fulfill, so I might not be able to work on this today, but I'll try. Cute
Aaah, cat anatomy! It's quite hard, isn't it? You're thinking of it too much like a dog. look up the bone structure of a cat, and especially study the chest. Cats don't have a chest like dogs do. to be exact, what you see of a cat's chest is really it's shoulders. their rib cage is pretty far back and doesn't influence the front too much. remember this: cat legs are REALLY bent. the bones are long, and they're bent to fit the cat.

also, you're thinking of the back legs of a cat like a dog. Cats do not put most of their weight on their front paws and leave the back to balance them. they support their weight with all of their legs under them. a good tip is to imagine that the back paws are about in line with their knees.

Also, because of the bendiness, their spines are also very curvy. You know longcat? cats have really long spines, they are just really bent normally.

on the head: while i did stylize it, i drew a diagram of how a cat's muzzle looks from the front. notice how the end of their smile is lower than the very top of the mouth. (pretend you understand that). a lot of artists think it's like a dog and draw them mostly level, or with big smiles. while it CAN work, it's best to draw it anatomically correct then figure out how to make it work.
Also, don't put the hair on until the very end. Better yet, don't even add one at all! /killed
Good luck dude. cats are really hard to draw, but if you dedicate yourself to drawing them correctly, you will be able to do it. Big Grin
