I'm interested in attempting to create a rough English translation of The Turnabout of Haruhi Suzumiya/Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten. All of the game's data is stored in a file called saiban.dat, so I used a program called Crage to extract everything, including the scripts.

I can open and modify everything easily, but I don't know how to go about reinserting my modified files into saiban.dat. Would anyone be willing to help me out?
Did you get the "Crass" pack?
Looking on a Wiki, I got this information:

Quote:Crass
http://galcrass.blog124.fc2.com/ - General modular ripping toolkit. Supports approx. 167 different VN engines. Comes as command-line tool with additional GUI interface.
"It consists of two parts: Crage, which extracts game resources from archives, and/or converts proprietary formats into standard formats, via "cui" plugin extensions; and Assage, which packs files back into archives, via "aui" plugin extensions. With the right "cui" and "aui" plugins, game resources can be unpacked from/packed into supported archive formats.

With that, the program "Assage" might be of help to you; do you have it?
To my knowledge Assage isn't out yet (and probably never will be seeing how the program's site hasn't been updated since 2008).

This quip from the discussion page seems to support my theory.

Quote:The crass tool is a very extensive tool. But, there is one problem with it. I am not seeing the Assage.exe portion so you can repack. I am currently searching for it.

He hasn't finished the repacker, so the source and tool itself aren't public atm. Moogy (talk) 03:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I can't find the repacker anywhere. Sad

Is this a PC VN kind of thing?

Eeyup. I could probably provide links if you'd like to take a look at it yourself.
