first of all, i don't want you going, "BUT THAT'S TOO COMPLICATED I THOUGHT I COULD JUST PRESS A BUTTON WAAAH" on me. 3d modeling/texturing IS complicated when you're just starting out. Blender IS complicated when you're just starting out. In this case, it's just adding texture to a ripped model, but already there are a lot of steps. Just keep practicing and it will come as second nature to you. That said, let's begin.
1. you will have to do this for all the pieces of the model if it is in different pieces. if not, then lucky you you only have to do it once. select one piece by right clicking on it. it should get a colored border.
2. to the right of the screen, where the icons are, click "Materials" [1]. IGNORE #2 and #3 IN THE SCREENSHOT THIS WAS A MISTAKE ON MY PART. scroll down where it says "Shading" and check "Shadeless".

3. go to the tab to the right of "Materials" which says "Textures", the one that looks like a checkered box. press "New"
4. Change Type from "Clouds" to "Image or Movie". scroll down where it says "Mapping" and change "Generated" to "UV". scroll back up where it says "Image: New|Open". press "Open" and open the texture image for the part you selected. you probably have to do some guessing here, mostly you can tell if you got the wrong texture if it looks messed u in the view (like if an eye is on his belly or something). just press the button that says "x" to delete the texture image and select a different one until you get it right.
5. do it for the other parts. in some cases, some properties or choices will automatically have changed which will make the work easier for you.
