i wish i could say this, but the gameplay looks way too disorganized and seems inherently flawed for something like tournament play (that people with playstations are going to organize to justify their lack of owning a console with smash bros)
given the current mechanics it seems like all a player has to do is turtle, and using safe moves with long range will build up your meter just the same as melee attacks. then it just becomes a game of camping until you find an opportunity where other characters are fighting to just go in and wreck their shit with a super.
you'll notice fat princess did this by keeping her distance from the other characters and mainly using fat bomber to poke and increase her super meter, and then popping her warioman-esque fat chicken super where she practically flew across the map and back to shit on everyone. she just seriously poked the shit out of everyone to build meter
it's kinda obvious if you watch sly cooper the entire match, you'll notice the sly player kinda just jumps around and can't really hit anything because he requires a bit more "skill" - what that actually means is in order to build any meter, you actually have to go in and use uncomfortably close-range melee attacks to build up that meter. the alarm clock special takes way too much time to execute and i'm not even sure what the sly illusion is supposed to do.
it seems like sly relies on stealthing, sneaking up in the middle of the fight, and attacking the opponent as much as possible

like if this game felt more like soul calibur than smash i'd be ok with that

Pikman 3 was...a dream come true. SO beautiful ;___;

All I really cared about Wii U wise was Pikmin 3.
06-05-2012, 12:14 PM
Well that was... Disappointing.

ZombiU actually looks really cool. Good job, Ubisoft

A bit too much emphasis on New Super Mario Bros and third party games in my opinion, although ZombieU looked interesting. Disappointing that there wasn't an announcement about SSB, but Pikmin 3 and Scribblenauts were nice too see.
Also, Nintendo Land looks like Wii Play, but with title-specific minigames.

BUT, they are revealing a new "top secret" WiiU game by a "secret developer"(could be Retro Studios?) on SpikeTV in a few mins. I'm trying to keep my hopes up and say the big games are yet to be announced. E3 isn't over.
JUST DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DON'T ANNOUNCE THESE GAMES AT THE ACTUAL CONFERENCE. The conference needed it.

It was just mentioned that it was Platinum. Oops.
Maybe it's Anarchy Reigns WiiU?
I'm not sure if you guys remember E3 in like 2006, when they had a pretty medicore press conference and then Smash Bros. Brawl was revealed that Friday? Give the Retro unveiling a few days ;P

At this point, it could be anything lol

The conference was..welp, not exciting. Could have been better. Pikmin 3 though was love 33 They lost too much time with Batman, which is nice but come on, it's a released game already. At least it was less boring than Sony, it didn't take as much space as the Wonderbook thing. Still, Ubisoft won this by far.
