Oh an addendum on the Feminist Frequency Kickstarter, that's also worth watching:

Yeah Fire Emblem 7 is probably the best to start with.
So yeah, if anyone's interested in writing the script, send me a PM, or contact me via skype (my skype is lexouduck)
I'd assume this person has basic knowledge of how fire emblem works.
I WANT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN PEOPLE

are you guys sure you want to start on another "community project"
i mean honestly isn't there enough on the plate already

We do what we want thanks :-)
We're not one thing, we're a community consisting of a bunch of different people. The ones want to do this, the others want to do that. I don't see a problem in having one group doing the one thing and another doing the other things whilst everyone not directly involved can contribute to whichever or both or not at all or whetever.
There projects are mainly for having fun doing stuff together, not to neccessarily get a finished product in the end.
That's my point of view, anyways.

Community projects are rather informal, and if one member doesn't want to contribute to one project, he/she can try another, or even not at all. There's no pressure had or to be made: having a complete project is of course the ultimate objective, but even so, it isn't actually that important in the context of a message board.
I wouldn't mind trying the Fire Emblem project out if it ever gets started!
It'd be best if we brought this discussion in a different thread or via PM if it continues.

it's great that you're doing your things for fun and all but i would hope you have the intention to finish at least one thing, that is literally all that i am saying and it's pretty ridiculous that people have to get defensive at me just for trying to be helpful and give advice/criticisms every single time i try to help from an outside POV.
(this is why people leave the forum BTW)

I understand your perspective Tyvon, and I would completely agree if this community was a Game Development Company dead set on pushing out a product. But, its not, and the things they're talking about are not.
When people talk about doing community projects like that it's more like a community activity for fun. It's not a business, it doesn't have an end goal, it's just something for people who have the time and desire to dick around with.

In addition to Cshad's response:
(though Previous finished a GIF Animator and I developed this for Mocavo, those are applications not games)
e: basically stop talking down to everyone, thanks

Experience as a freelance artist (or founder of an online forum) is not even close to experience as a game developer anyways. Also having an unfinished alpha for a game does not make you an experienced anything. In the games industry you aren't measured by how many games you've almost made. I'll back off this once (if) you release the final Navigator build, but until then you're at the same level as us

Well, since the Navigator card's already been pulled, it would be great if the guy that still hasn't released a product that I paid for nearly a year ago wouldn't try to tell us how to run our own projects that nobody is investing anything in financially.

as someone with experience on tsr's collab works i can safely say that tyvon is right and that the "lets make this into a tsr game" on top of another "lets make this into a tsr game" has basically killed most if not all of the potentially good ideas this community had in the last 2 or so years, if not before that date(wasnt here previous to that)

HAHA FUCKING WOW and you guys are the first to complain about petty sniping and passive aggression
he's not fucking talking down to anyone, just giving you genuine criticism, and your response is to instantly go on the offensive
like seriously throw in a crack about his race or his hair while you're at it since it's evidently a race to the bottom you're going for here

Telling him to release his game before criticizing us for not releasing games isn't genuine criticism in return?
06-15-2012, 06:39 PM
please explain how navigator not being released yet is at all relevant to whether or not it's a good idea to start this community project
that was a pretty fuckin' obvious attempt to undermine him + his point for... some bizarre reason? since everyone's apparently decided he's being super elitist and critical just by giving his opinion??
whatever i'm outtie since you're either fucking with me or being wilfully obtuse

I'm confused, did you not read sengir's post at all? Because it explains pretty well how someone with no finished products under their belt (someone who is working for profit, no less) has no business telling other people doing something for fun what they should be doing.
Once Navigator is released, hey, more power to you. You'll have valid points and we'll have a reason to listen to you.
But as of now, he's in the exact same boat as us.
tl;dr it's a hobby project that people are doing in their spare time. WHO CARES.
