I need to mention how much I love the Neko sprites. They are so fun to look at.
Epic work NICKtendo!
I want to change my Midnight Moe into this:
I'll make the ball seperate (it's a Dragon Ball, but with a paw pattern in it instead of stars) so that Neko drops the ball and the ball casually rolls away.
I also want to extend Neko's victory a little further. Princess needs an entrance and I want to give her a 2 frame loop of her applauding Neko after throwing the Fishcake.
Quick question because : For a "helper", is it like an Assist Trophy in Brawl? Because I don't really get it, if it like assists than I'd make a sheet for Quirby >.<
EDIT : Well technichally I would like to be a fighter, but most moves i can't think up >.< x2
Execution:
Edit:
Added Princess' intro for Neko's victory.
Edit 2: Decided to change Neko's duck and duck moves. His duck punch is shown above. His duck shield is a lucky cat (maneki neko) statue. I have yet to change duck kick and duck hit. Which is better? The old duck and duck moves or the new ones?
Edit 3: I touched up the duck frame. The roll is now moved to Duck Kick. Folward Kick is now a tackle. Duck Hit is now added as well.
Edit 4: Can you spot the victory portrait?
I love your stuff, Nick. Especially that new Duck Punch.
Click above image and you can see the progress of the Fighter Maker 2002 version, and even play it for yourself! Just to warn you, it is still very buggy and incomplete. X:
Kick combo when you tap the kick button more than once. Still WIP
Edit:
An idea for a combo starting with a back kick.
A possible juggle
maybe instead of posting about it, you should actually do it? :V
Made some stuff, even though I'm not sure if I can be in or not. Yeah, it's stinks as of now IMO, but here's what I made.
EDIT : Added more poses.
EDIT : More stuff, plus idle animated.

My webcomics take up a lot of my time...
Yeah, you should do stuff before complaining not having anything done.
So, if you keep punch pressed down it makes C2B heavy and fall to the ground.
Edit:
I know it's a bit late but

Yes, a helper is much like an "assist" from Brawl. They're fairly common in games like Marvel vs. Capcom. I suggest you do a little research on 2D fighters so you have a better notion of what you're working towards.

I dunno, I think the spikes should "spring out" more. That part of the animation just seems a tad rigid.

The eyes look a little freaky, probably because the lighting is on opposite sides. Also, at this scale, I don't think putting them at different height levels looks right. Your body base is not exactly circular. The hat is way too bumpy, the bill is jaggy, and the shading suggests "bottom right" as a lightsource, which is not the one being used here. Also, you should avoid reusing the face so much, especially since when he's walking his face should be turning.
I'm sorry to say that the idle animation isn't...well, it doesn't...make much sense. I really want to go more in depth but I'm typing from my phone. At the very least, I would suggest that you study Kirby's movements in a game like Brawl or Melee.
There's a tutorial on blurs on the first page, too, so you should probably give that a read as well.

My webcomics take up a lot of my time...
Well, I'm sure people here have jobs and other things to do as well...
If you don't make time for it, well, it's not gonna make itself.
