Not small, Huge. try zooming out.
this is odd non of the UV's line up all the way (Trying to Do Ratchet's Infrenox Armor from RaC3)
When i import it it has like 4 layers most likly for the Shine and stuff x2
yeah that's usually the case. I'm not sure why, but the UVs are always warped in some way requiring you to do some fixing.
THis is great, so far I've gotten it to get the model out, but the textures appear to be tinted blue as well, is there a tutorial for how to apply the texture in 3dsmax?
I'm working with ff12, and found that rescaling the y axis to ~0.5 gets things looking pretty normal. If you take a snapshot of a cut scene, the perspective is slightly off and you end up with "3d-foreshortening" and even after re-scaling the model will still suffer from this phenomenon. But testing it out on regular game play works well so far

For the blueish textures, that might be the old RGB-BGR mixup error. To fix it, simply swap the R and B channels with some image editing software of your choice and see how it looks!
I'll give that a try and see how it goes; I saw a video on youtube where a person had messed with something called FRAPS and it made his audio choppy and everything tinted blue like this....
Any tips on the UV flipping that was mentioned? I was looking this up but the guides I came across seemed to want me to have a t-pose model that I can cut in half?

You can flip the UV's or the Texture it Self (Easier)
Sorry for my naive understanding, but I'll try flipping the texture along different axis and see what works.
I've found that for ff12, with the lack of an in-game model viewer, any snapshot taken is affected by the perspective. At first I thought it was somewhat interestingly stylized, but now I realize that its somewhat of a nuisance... Any tips on how to overcome this?

any tips on scaling the UV? is there a ballpark range to enter?
EDIT 04AUG2012: I think i"ve figured it out, but the UVs were all distorted, i think it's mainy due to the camera placement at the time of the snapshot, for model viewer like shots it might work fine, but from in-game where the camera is at different angles i think the resulting obj and UVs will be appropriately skewed
Hey guys don't mean to bump this thread but, i'd really love to try this out for myself, but it seems that the texmod.exe isn't working somehow, i mean it shows the textures meter increasing but i can't preview or save the textures, and i can't capture the scene with SHIFT+F8 either, can someone help me out?
I believe bumping is allowed on tutorial threads.
Are you using the Numpad for the +, -, and Enter buttons?
also is pcsx2 saved somewhere like My Documents or something?
oh thanks demon boy lol, now i can save the textures and convert them, but also when i use SHIFT+F8, it rips the .obj but it's just blank, any suggestions on that?
You need to set the GX Renderer to DirectX9(Software) to capture the scene
thanks alot demonboy
I'm trying to do this on PaRappa the Rapper 2, but the .obj comes out completely flat (like the characters themselves haha I'm funny no I'm not fgsfhshsj)
Anyway, what's the problem? The game is clearly 3D and I wanna get Parappa Town, but I can't without it being flat.
im trying this on "Night Into Dreams..." Ps2-J nothing happened in Software mode i just get a Screen shot thats BGR and slightly Alpha
nvm i got it i was doing it back wards... im just gonna wait for the PC Release...
