Eh, that's a good question, but I still just get corded controllers; I lose wireless ones way too easily.
Microsoft offers a power-pak thing and Sony controllers have built in batteries.

The most likely reason why Nintendo (minus being dicks) don't have built in batteries for their consoles is to keep the price down.
what do you get when you mix smash bros and stars wars together why an awesome crossover that's what!

This seriously looks awesome. I am going to get this as soon as it's released.
Voice controlled? Ewwwwwww
I personally think that's rather cool. It definitely improves the immersion, it'd be like you're actually commanding your troops (rather than using a cursor to magically control them). The accuracy seems pretty sweet, and you can assign your own custom voice commands.
So I'm guessing that someone at Nintendo is going insane because they're releasing a Wii Mini(Wii without online, GC compatibility, etc, etc,) for 99$ + MKWii in North America, when U can already buy a full power Wii for less than 75$ and the Wii U can also play Wii games + Wii U. Basically no reason to buy it.

Seriously Nintendo, what the heck?
OK, this isn't really too much your fault since the title of the article itself fucked up, but the Wii Mini came out in Canada last year, so technically it's already been in North America. They presumably meant "The United States". (Jesus Christ, even the article sourced within the article Neweegee linked to made this error.) Sorry, just me nitpicking over basic journalistic mistakes that really shouldn't be happening, let alone twice.

As for something more pertinent, I gotta say it's kinda odd to bundle a popular online game with a console that has no online. And the main console also looks like an attempt at making a sleeker Virtual Boy redesign. The red WiiMote+Nunchuck are sexy, but assuming they're only available with this bundle, it's not worth the $100 for me.
Maybe Nintendo likes to make their worst systems red so you know not to buy them

their nothing more than a collector's item
Not only does the Wii Mini not have online, it also can't play Gamecube games (and therefore doesn't have Gamecube controlller ports) and doesn't support component cables so you're forced to use composite cables.

I'm pretty sure there were some other features it was missing as well but basically if you buy this over a used original Wii, you're probably the dumbest person alive.

edit: here they are
Quote:Wii Mini
1. No Online
2. No Component Output
3. No GameCube
4. No SD Card Slot
5. Unable to Transfer Saves.

Yeah hehe

I heard Hey You Pikachu and Nintendogs aren't compatible with Europeans

From the FAQ:

Quote:How good is the voice recognition? And what if I have an accent?

Assuming a nice, quiet environment (external chatter can significantly worsen results), a standard American English accent is hitting around a 96% recognition rate with the Microsoft Speech Platform Runtime 11. We've tried quite a few accents, and none seem to dip below 91%. The real key is enunciation.

I'm sure "quite a few" must have included the most common UK accents. Plus, as I said, you can assign your own custom commands if it really becomes a problem.

I have a Kiwi accent, which they probably didn't even test, so I get where you're coming from. I'm confident it'll turn out OK though.
Dillon's Rolling Western is available for 200 Coins at Club Nintendo, if it's something you don't have yet.
I don't care how well it works, I don't want to be talking to my computer/console/handheld.
