I finally got around to playing this again and this time played the creatures stage as a carnivore and then an omnivore. Got to the point where I had pretty much wiped out every other creature on the island and was sick of creature mode.

So, I currently got a bunch of shroom people, aiming for an Ecologist Archetype (Omnivore, Aggressive, Friendly, Religious planned tree)
Actually, aggression is pretty tough to do with the mushroom people, because all I did was give them super-high jumping ability. (Yes, frog feet, and dang do they jump like half a mile in the air). No combat ability other then their Bite 1. So really, all I'm counting on is their summoned creatures to kill whatever they want to kill. Geeze, this is a pretty fun game, particularly trying to make a creature that doesn't look like ass, while still having it succeed in game while following the game's limitations.
I'll post a png when I finish it out of creature phase. These critters are going to colonize Earth (I'm very close to it, actually, picked the nearest planet to it) and then the rest of the Solar System.
Update :
Here's the Epic I killed by the way, I've tried to upload it this whole time but my net connection has disagreed.

Was it edible? xD
Once my cousin set the graphics too high for my computer when I was going to the toilet, and then it was very slow, and I got killed 3x by an epic because it was invisible.

Yeah, it was edible, I was an omnivore, and basically we ate that thing until I evolved. I wasn't that far from evolving so I dunno if it was permanent or not. But dang I am just blowing through achievements. I just got the no member of my tribe dying one yesterday, the Ecologist one (sweet) and now I'm a force to be reckoned with. Hard mode is in fact hard, but honestly, if you know a few tricks it's all about determination.
More pictures to come if people want.
Oh, my Spore name is 'ZeeHero' sans quotes btw.

So basicly you are saying you killed an epic in hard mode, and I can't even kill 1/4th of his health in easy.....
Hax? Skillz? Zee Epicness?
And is killing an epic an achievement?

I consider it shallow only because despite me having over 600 creatures downloaded/made, the game still decides to use 95% Maxis made creatures resulting in every single playthrough of Creature stage to be identical because the same creatures (not picked by me at all) keep showing up, while 70% of the creations I downloaded/made have never appeared in a playthrough, and I have about 8 saves. This needs to be addressed because it is very annoying...
I even made a creature with identical stats to a Maxis creature, and for some unknown reason I have never seen my creation used but this specific maxis creature has been in every single playthrough with no sign of my creature anywhere, I mean come on, Maxis creatures should be used as back ups ONLY after a very strict search of everything I have in the file.

That's funny, when I was at the tribal stage once, all creatures were made by me, and 1 creature was used in 3 different tribes.

On one of my files I made friends with an epic. It was silly to see something so big smile and wave at me.

Yes, you get an achievement for killing an epic in creature stage.
I never play a game on anything but the hardest setting possible from start.

Yeah, turbobump from two months ago, I know.
But uhh, is anybody still playing this game? I've noticed a lot of my friends have fallen out of it. I dunno, I guess I'm one of those tools who got...
Yeah, then after installing, you get an update which basically doubles the amount of limbs you have (adding insect/crustacean type limbs, exoskeletons and whatnot). You get a dragon-type head, there's one that when done right mimics a Gray's head perfectly, and one that you can make a Yoshi pretty darn easily with. 12 new heads, 12 new eyes, 24 new limbs, 12 new feet, 12 new hands, and 12 new misc. No new weapon parts but I digress. Oh, an a new page of graphics in each detail level for creatures.
So, all in all about 100+ new features. And Zee is going gaga over them. I love this game, I don't even care about the DRM, this game is just so much fun to me. Since I've gotten all the achievements for hard mode, I'm going back to normal (seeing as Tribal is just too much of a hit-and-miss thing to get through on Hard, hope the expansion fixes that.)
So yeah, how about... we start posting our favorite creatures in this thread? Keep it alive some. Post some of yours or some you find cool. Right now, I've kinda started using a Metroid style for my races. Makes for some cool designs let me tell you. But I'm gonna go back to playing, it's so much fun.
Weehee!

Pre-Christmas I played it almost every day. Now with my new games, it doesn't get as much love

I haven't played this game in a while...
Perhaps I should. And I do love the creature I created in my first file.

Yeah, I recently had to uninstall, deauthorize, get a new hard drive and re-install. So, go-go blank slate =D
I'm really looking forward to the new expansion coming out soon.
June 23rd for a US release, the 26th for Euopre. It includes several new mission types and whole bunches of new stuff for people to keep playing. So, really, hopefully I've gotten some money by then, and am ready to play the heck out of it. =D
So, who else is still playing this game?
