Hello everyone. This is my first sprite that I will be putting up here for all to see and give me some help on. I can already thank Previous in #spriters-resource for helping me get it to the state it is in now, and now I want to improve it further. I call it the "Lurker", it's a cave-dwelling spider that is meant to be an enemy in an upcoming game I am making. Without further ado,
I recommend expanding the canvas slightly, as it's a little hard to see being as boxed-in as it is. From what I can see it looks like a fairly decent attempt, especially compared to a lot of "first sprites". Also credit must be given for trying something from scratch instead of editing or recolouring.
Updated in first post, is that better?
I'd use the light brown from the head for the legs. Then get rid of the two single pixels of yet another brown at the knees and those above the center eye. Also, the top of the head has another redundant shade of brown.
Here we go.
How's that?
And that's your first sprite? Bravo.
here are the frames for a small animation I have done, and

Gotta say, I'm impressed. Your shape, shading, colours and readability are all good. Keep up the good work man.

I could say you should add another sprite for the fangs I think it will make it look more menacing and insect like
