I'll get back to Narome eventually... it's only been, like... six months.
In the meantime here's something else
If that's an idle, he'll end up on his ass after about three seconds if he's shaking that hard. But it kind of also looks like a projectile attack stance? I'm not sure how to read it really, so I can't really critique it because of that. But I do enjoy the whimsy of the style.
Yeah, it's an idle. The scarf just flies around because... I dunno, it looks cool.
Maybe I could slow the animation down so he doesn't look as if he's about to fall over. Then again, it's not like the pose is practical to begin with, so...
So I sprited my band with just black, grey and white. You know, as an experiment?
Does it look readable enough?
I can run now
Also, more sprites in the other style.
Those black and white sprites do look readable enough, save for the one area where the shirt color kinda bleeds into the shorts(on the girl) The running animation, however, has legs that are very hard to read. For all I know, he could be jumping with his feet spread apart, landing with them together, and jumping the same way again.
Makin' a Mario set because why not?
his head doesn't read well, it's as if the upper half of the head was longer then the lower half. the crouch sprite is really awkward and so is the walk cycle. did you animate it to see if it loops correctly?
Thanks for the criticism, though I ended up scrapping the project those sprites were for. I shall keep those things in consideration for my next little sprite.
Anyway here's something new.
Not particularly polished but I'm satisfied.
his leg doesn't look like it matches the upper half of the body; it looks broken. I think that his knee (and therefore the rest of his leg) should point to us a little more, and not be 100% profile like it is right now
