None of this is relevant to the thread at all.
Drop it.
If you don't like Hoeloe's program, you don't have to use it or post in the thread about it.
I actually made this program because Photoshop was too time consuming at this job, and difficult to use. I made it to arrange sprite sheets for my game project, because when I rendered the animations from my 3D software, it produced each frame as a separate image with a transparent background. Arranging these such that they fitted together perfectly, and could then be animated from my game, was not only time consuming (involving opening each file and manually copying them in), but also prone to error, since I have no way to measure the offset of the graphic in Photoshop. I made a program that would position things automatically to make this easier.
Gensym, please just drop it. Your logic makes no sense, you clearly don't understand how programming works (since you claim that C++/C and C# are bad languages, which they aren't, or they wouldn't be some of the most popular languages in use today, and you also seem to believe that Java and Javascript are one and the same, which, again, they aren't). You are also encouraging people to illegally crack programs. Yes, cracking is more convenient for you. As is walking into a computer shop and walking out with a laptop without paying for it. Doesn't mean it's right.
I find myself wishing I were a mod so I could at least warn you for this kind of derailment. Sadly, I'm not, so I'm going to use the next arsenal available to me.
From now on, I'm going to ignore anything you post in this thread completely.
@canasniimehugh I wasn't planning to, but I could quite easily do so. Thanks for the suggestion.
EDIT: Done. You now have another numerical selection box next to the "Columns" box which sets the space between sprites, plus all the filetypes will save that value, but can still load older versions.
EDIT: Oops, a bug. Fixed now.
Found another bug. Texture height didn't calculate properly with new lines. Should be fixed now.

Do you know that Photoshop is extensible through plugins and scripting?

"Drop" what?

What makes you think so?

How do you know they arent?

How popularity makes a "good language"?
(08-29-2012, 04:22 AM)Hoeloe Wrote: [ -> ]and you also seem to believe that Java and Javascript are one and the same, which, again, they aren't
Where did I said they are "the same"?
(08-29-2012, 04:22 AM)Hoeloe Wrote: [ -> ]You are also encouraging people to illegally crack programs.
How exactly?

What forces me to pay?

Isnt it more like downloading a copyrighted laptop blueprints and making unlimited copies of it without much effort?

What kind of "derailment"? Wasn't I talked about your program here?

Out of arguments?
gensym, I am going to tell you once more. stop being dense, this discussion is over. This is a thread to discuss about hoeloe's program, not a thread to show 'alternatives' that is not relevant to this thread at all.
Have an extra warn. you've been told this before already.
Hoeloe, does this support alpha transparent pngs?
Yes, it does. It can both load and save as them. In fact, I made the program to import alpha transparent .pngs and export as one, since I needed those file formats for my game project.
Can you do a video tutorial to show us how it works?
I could, but I'm not sure it's necessary. It would only be a minute or so long, and it is designed to be fairly straightforward to use. Plus there are screenshots of practically every stage of it.
Well, it couldn't hurt to try.
I'd like to know how to do it, step-by-step-by-step.
Couldn't hurt other than taking time, which I really need for other things now. It's not anything you couldn't figure out in ten minutes of messing about, either.
It's ok.
It's worth the learning.
I know you've not updated this in a while, but two cents; try to make a memory of where the last folder viewed was. Really quite irritating having to go through and go into the folder within a folder within a folder structure I use when ripping.
Also, as you can't highlight the text in the save dialogue box, it'd be better to leave it blank. Also set it as the default selected box at the moment it appears, as having to click it then type kind of sucks.
That should be possible. I could give that a try.
I might re-hash this using Windows Forms.
