PGA Tour Golf (Genesis)



Okay, name me an uglier Genesis game than this. It's like the developers targetted the graphics for a early 90s PC as in 16 colour mode or something. It even has the Windows menu bar at the top that remains in the next two games too.

PGA Tour Golf II (Genesis)




It looks better, on par pardon the pun with most American made Genesis games in terms of the graphics. I actually have this game.

PGA European Tour (Genesis)




Different menus and mugshots but still the same gameplay and most of the music from PGA Tour Golf II as well. Lazy EA, just lazy.

PGA Tour Golf III (Genesis)




They finally ditched the Windows menus in this one and actually it looks pretty nice. Probably the nicest looking golf game on the system.

I know, why are you still ripping from sports games? Well it is because there are a lot of sports games out there, in fact a quarter of the Genesis library is nothing but sports games. However in the case of this genre, it depends on the sport and individual sports like golf, boxing and tennis have portraits in them that can be interesting to look at while team sports like football (both American and soccer), baseball and basketball are team logos and country flags that aren't really appealing to look at and not every sports game even has portraits in them. This bombardment of sports game related rips probably I see 2, maybe 3 more batches at the most. Don't worry uploaders, you won't be suffering for much longer.

WWF Super Wrestlemania (Genesis)



Silm Jims and being a REAL AMERICAN. Actually more like the British Bulldog, same city too.

Andre Agassi Tennis (Genesis)



Completely broken in terms of controls.

ATP Tour Championship Tennis (Genesis)



A Sega tennis game pre-Virtua Tennis and has a surprisingly high roster. Is it me or does that portrait look like someone called Saxon Hale that people seem to like?

David Crane's Amazing Tennis (Genesis)




That surely must be sarcasm since it isn't amazing at all and to think that the man behind A Boy and his Blob and Pitfall did this game. Now you know why Pong was the most playable tennis game around then cause most of these tennis games are too complex for their own good.

Davis Cup World Tour (Genesis)

EA tennis game before Grand Slam Tennis (no relation to the one below) on the Wii that has an FM cover of the song Unbelieveable as the title theme. No joke. I thought that it was complete until I checked the ROM using a Hex editor out of curiousity. It turned out to be that 16 players are unused and did a check and they there were.

Grand Slam/Jennifer Capriati Tennis (Genesis)



Japanese tennis game, probably inspired by either Super Tennis on the SNES or one of the PC Engine ones. The Japanese version is in Japanese text, the European version is a translated version and the American version changes the name and adds an ugly title screen. Oddly enough, the European version and the American version have Capriati as the default player while the Japanese version has some male person (Capriati is actually female player 10 in that version).

Pete Sampras Tennis '96 (Genesis)



Wimbledon (Genesis)



That's most of the tennis games on the system done. The only two that aren't done are Davis Cup 2 that is an early prototype with only two mugshots done at the time of development and the original Pete Sampras Tennis doesn't have any at all. Oh and I might as well mention the rest of the sports games that I'm going to do or progress before it is enough and move on to something else.

Barkley Shut Up and Jam (Genesis) - Sadly it isn't the Gaiden RPG that people love but a basketball game. I'm a bit stumped on the random palettes that the portraits have (sometimes they are in purple or red or black). I'll figure something out.

Barkley Shut Up and Jam 2 (Genesis) - It should be doable, much easier than the original. Also the prototype version actually has Charles Barkley in it compared to the final.

Muhammed Ali Boxing (Genesis) - I had to abandon the rip since in the game, the boxers get injured and their portrait reflects that. The injuries I couldn't find in the ROM at all. Feel free to take over the rip that I've started.

There are other boxing games on the system but whether they are going to be ripped is a case by case scenario.

Golfamania (Master System) - As far as I'm aware, it might be the only Master System golf game with mugshots since sports games around that era don't have them. Very doable.

Tennis Ace (Master System) - Port of the arcade Passing Shot, one of I think of the three tennis games that have mugshots (the other two being Andre Agassi Tennis and Wimbledon, both games I ripped the Genesis versions of and I think there's Wimbledon II as well). Should be doable.

SNES games I'm not too sure about. The tennis side apart from Jimmy Connor's Tennis, Super Tennis and Smash Tennis also appeared on the Genesis (the International one is actually Davis Cup). The golf side don't know much about. Boxing, apart from Super Punch-Out!! that Solink has already ripped most of them are also on the Genesis except two and one is a Spanish localisation.
