its not even a side-scrolling shooter
its an auto-scrolling auto-shooter
ou can quite literally skip the entire game.
Its not even a game.
Maybe its my bias speaking, considering I own and love just about every single Megaman game there is, but its absolutely not Megaman.
Whats worse, is that they HAD been working on something similar for consoles. Customizable characters, Stages and, Actual gameplay.
So no, I'm not supporting Capcom anymore, as I told myself after Legends 3. If they put out a game I must have then i'll buy it second hand. but I doubt it.
anyways yeah thats enough rambles for tonight

Of course they're trying to stomp on that too.

the megaman franchise has been dead for quite a while though. megaman-based gameplay is extremely outdated and its only gimmick -unreasonable difficulty platformer- proved to be rather unnecesary in the last MM10, seeing how you had the chance to nerf the entire game's death traps and such.
MMX as a franchise(and both as a gameplay element) also proved to be extremely outdated and outdone. to death.

I think there's still a lot more they could do with MMX, they just aren't.

yo what's up
metaru i don't know what you're going on about but not only is it wrong it's pretty rude + brazen
MMX has consistently been a series that evolved it's mechanics with the times. From the transition between the Classic Series and the Megaman X serie, this ability to adapt was pretty blatant.
Megaman isn't "dated" and really, no form of mechanics are "dated" at all, they simply need to change and evolve. The problem is, Capcom isn't willing to bank risks on the series anymore and mess with that formula. As an aside, that's ridiculous that you say they have been outdone, too. Megaman Zero pretty much outdid the entire X series before that and is one of the best action games of all time, megaman ZX (not advent tho) also adapted the formula quite well while keeping it fresh and interesting.

Not only that, everyone and their mom knows that beating the bosses in the right order and getting their powerups, while knowing how to use them in the righr opportunities is also part of Megaman gameplay.
I never cared about Megaman that much to be honest, but this is really a shame. Oh well.

I pretty much agree with Kojirro except I haven't play the Zero series yet

The game is an on-rails megaman game. It has pointless unloseable turn-based boss battles.
IT HAS AN AUTOPLAY BUTTON.
This is bad for flash game standards.
Autoplay buttons can be very useful, specially on those games where you have to rub women's elbows in the right order...

Why are we even talking about this? Capcom is a company of cheap bastards out to make a quick buck. Once and a while they do come out with something stellar, but for the most part they just want us to throw money at them...and normally a lot of us do.
We can say we're going to protest them,
We can say they've killed a series again,
but at the end of the day they will still make something we want down the line and we'll give them more money and they will manage to make shit worse than this.
It's a cycle people, let's get over it already and stop acting surprised.

It's still one of the blandest fixed-tempo rail-shooters I've ever seen.
I'm no Megaman fan, In fact aside from the first Legends game, I don't really care for the entire series, but that
pathetic attempt of a game is just embarrassing. Capcom really wants their name attached to this, but not a
true addition to the Megaman franchise? They would rather slog out half-ass phone games then put real effort
into something that could make real money?
Fine. Just one more reason why gaming will hit its bubble, and the market will burst all over again. You think that
everyone would have learned from Atari and Colecovision in the 80s. You can't provide an influx of games that no
one wants to play. If you do, you run the risk of losing customer appeal, you lose profit, and eventually you go
bankrupt. It doesn't matter how big you are, no company is invincible.

I have no idea if it's going to be 3DS only but if it's not you can guarantee Capcom won't make a cent but I will enjoy the fuck out of the game. *Wink Wink*.
Also, this game isn't even the sore spot with me and Capcom, they can churn out shitty on-rails, trying to re-claim 90's glory MMX all they want for all I care, fuck it I like the IDEA of Megaman X bull shit story about some new Megaman version RPG boss battles just make a better effort.
What absolutely kills me: Is that they cancelled MML3. FUCKING WHY!? Why was that okay?! Why was that a 'good' idea?! Whoi is stupid enough NOT to want ANOTHER good reason to buy a Megaman game for a handheld that at the time? Gave me no inclination to buy it. Compared to that, this entire thread is terrible Segway to the way they dealt with that entire project. All this thread does is pour salt in the wounds of MML3 NOT happening.
An aside: They already had their chance with Maverick hunter X And i BOUGHT that game, AND Megaman Powered up! Both well received PSP titles I spent hard-earned money on and all i was waiting for was "Megaman Maverick Hunter X: Hunters, Megaman Maverick Hunter X: Zero's Return, Megaman Powered Up Squared/Cubed/etc" None of that happened a perfectly new start, everyone had a PSP games sold well, no sequels whatsoever. You think this shitty iOS was the start of Capcoms poor Megaman related decisions? Fuck no. The fact it apparently cost some odd millions of dollars for Keiji Inafune to say MML3 could happen means Capcom is just a money-grubbing bunch of ass holes who want Street Fighter II money, forever.
Since this is my first post in a while fuck it: walloftext.jpg

Say... japan hates this game almost as much as we do. what do they think of this?
10-25-2012, 11:56 PM
Belive it or not, Over-1 has fanart, what a suprise (not). Omegajak's psudeo-right, but it's not just Street Fighter II, it's other fighters who use a similar engine, and then there are these jimmy rustlers that come along and cause a shitstorm out of it, it's a lose-lose scenario and if anyone mentions a rocket in a video game fans WILL go apeshit, I've seen it happen on TMMN.
Thing is, capcom is reeking with PR drama as they also screwed up in the DMC department, and the only one that's doing "A-OK" right now is the Pheonix Wright series that capcom hasn't fucked up yet (We're like in the.. 5th game and already we might be reaching the dreaded sequel limit, bless thy poor fanbase's soul when that happens).
And they get rewarded a free pass to a crossover game/Wreck-It Ralph? Oh well, at least we see Mega Man X again, it's been too damn long I feel. He got the crossover shaft for awhile up until THAT game and even then Banpresto is handling him better than Capcom, however I can't speak for the fanbase when capcom seems to focus in what the masses are intrested these days.

Seriously, how is DMC ruined? It looks pretty fucking good, and I guess we can all just forget about Dragon's Dogma which is one hell of an RPG from Capcom as well...
Oh and hey, Resident Evil 6 is apparently pretty dang good too.
Honestly, aside from Megaman, Capcom's looking pretty good in my eyes, not including their business methods such as on disc DLC..
