I figured out (more like stumbled upon) a method to extract halo 3 files and import them into 3ds max. hopefully by the end of the week I get all the major characters uploaded, ie arbiter, chief, shipmaster, hood, keyes, johnson & truth (and hopefully I got .mtl exporting to work)
and so it begins
I guess Halo 3 uses Unreal right? Everything is rippable from them; rigged models, animations... etc.

halo 3 uses a heavily modified version of the original halo 1 and 2 engine, so using Unreal ripping tools may not work as you expect

Sorry it took me so long to get to these. The models themselves are great, but the textures are .JPGs, which I can't allow. Unless those are the files that the game actually uses, you'll have to re-rip them as PNGs.
