I must admit I am guilty of using the circle tool every now and then, but I use it either as a guide or clean up the line so it isn't jagged. I can see two jags, one in each 'corner' of his body.
Shading's okay. The contrast between shadow and midtone is good, a little hard, but it works. The highlights (the ones on his head are excusable, because they're white) are a little low on contrast. The highlights on his shoes can be lighter, though they can also be removed. The shadow is enough to give it volume, because the shoes aren't that big.
I did not use the circle too at all! I must learn to make better circles, yes?
I think i see what you mean, though, and I looked in this
http://www.spriters-resource.com/communi...?tid=13868 spriting dictionary for "jagged", you mean the little "horns" on his head, rihgt?
I tried to make it smother and I made two versions one with brighter light spots on shoes and one without and I think youre right, it does not need them!
Thank you for your help, NICKtendo DS!!

I'm still think your underage, but yea.
Its just that we corrected you on a mistake you did. You don't have to get angry for no reason. I'd course we know your sprites aren't that good at the start. All of us went through the same thing. In also a begginner though,
In any case, Kirby is too blocky, try making him much more round.
You did not just correct a mistake you accusd me of being too young to use this forum and wanted me to leave? If you ask me that is really rude! DO you call that not a reason to be angry? How do you want your froum to grow if you scare all new members away like that? It's not fair not to give a chance!!
Look in not trying to scare you away. And I don't want you to sumply leave. But if you want to talk Send me a PM.
Also, Kirby feet are way too squared
It's okay SupaBuddie, you're doing good! Let's leave the age subject behind for now and focus on your sprites.
Aside from what Torch said about his feet being too blocky, the shine on his body is also not necessary since Kirby is actually not shiny.
Also it's a bit hard to figure out the exact angle he is facing because of how his eyes are aligned. I'd bring the farthest eye a pixel closer to the other, and move his mouth up a bit.
His farthest foot is also out too far compared to the other, so it should be brought in a bit closer, and the other brought out a bit farther too. Just looks a bit unbalanced.
I have no problem with the idea of making Sonic look a little chubby and 'cute' (even morso than Classic) at all. I quite like the new take on him as you've done here. You're sprite could use numerous things though to fix it. You have the highlights and whatnot but they convey no depth whatsoever and are mostly just balloon-like highlight circles, the slightly lazy way of using your brightest shades. Use your lightest shades to convey depth, it can be just as strong as the darkest one when it comes to it (It's currently making your sprite look flat).
Secondly, you seem to be banding with the second shade of peach everywhere possible, not helping with the flatness, and wasting an opportunity to add depth to the most important parts that shouldn't be banded, like his belly. The eyes are squarish and look a little weird, and his 'eyebrows' look like he's questioning someone, and don't actually wrap around the top of the eye like they should, going completely horizontal.
Both of his legs look like they're going behind his belly, and the hands and socks look undefined (if you remove the shading/AA they'd just be blobs); his thumbs-up hand looks more like he's holding a hotdog instead. For things that are hard to convey at small sizes like this, make them more dynamic and readable as possible (dynamic doesn't mean making it look complicated, sometimes just angling the part a bit makes it a bit more interesting. The shoes are surprisingly lacking any highlight unlike the rest of the sprite whatsoever. The ears are also a bit small and look odd going in polar opposite directions contrary to where he's actually facing.
It also seems you didn't take the palette to it's full potential... I dunno. Be creative with the limited use of colors, I took a Knuckles Chaotix approach and even used white as a complete shade for the peach parts. (although giving it a dry high contrast look).
.
An example of all my crits on it in one edit, keep in mind it's just an example and you don't have to go by it; it's just what I imagined the sprite to look like. These are pretty good for first sprites, but moving to simple things like Kirby like all new people try to do just won't cut it or help you at all. All it takes is a ball with eyes.
EDIT: SATURATION AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The saturation on these colors is awkwardly low
I tried to make Kirby face and feet better but I am not sure!
WHOOOOOOA Iceman404 that looks amazing thank you!! That helps a LOT! I will definately try to make mine more like yours later, but now I am working on a sprite rip for the website but I will get back to sonic when i have it finished!! (Kirby was just a quick change haha!) Thank you!
Considering you're spriting for fun and just to improve, why not do something other than a ball? Kirby's too simple and boring in design to get anything from it. The only criticism you'd get on the average Kirby sprite is that he isn't round enough most of the time.

How is this related to the thread whatsoever?
Off-topic post. Please send SupaBuddie a PM if you want to tell him or ask him something. Issuing a small warning.
Heeeey I'm here my rip is done and on the website so I had time for mario!

This is better, yes?
thank you everyone you've been a great help! Thank you for your version, iceman404 it was really helpfull!
I don't even have normal DS
Wow, you're improving quickly! I'm not used to seeing such vast improvement in such short time in new spriters. It's really refreshing.
W-wow, Supabuddie. That's great!
That sonic is looking really good, great job!
