Really? Because I remember there being a ton of scenes in Roger Rabbit that didn't use "real cartoons" and focused on the movie's own characters :F

every background character from roger rabbit is from a real cartoon series and every scene that had cartoons had them
WIR has a much more limited number of characters that should have been reworked to appear more

Yes
skrillex cameo aaaaaaaaaaa
i liked this movie so much, i saw it twice over the weekend
not really a spoiler, but I noticed an obnoxious amount of not-quite-Nintendo in this movie. Yes, Bowser shows up in the badanon meeting but elsewhere there's generic looking turtles and a not-really-peach and daisy
edit: turns out the two are credited as "daisy" and "rosalina" - though they didn't really resemble the two characters in the least but :/
and vanellope is cast incredibly well (voiced by sarah silvermann, possibly the most annoying and audibly obnoxious comedian today) because she's annoying as hell
*also if you're a big anime nerd you're going to love this movie, AKB48 does the theme song for the Sugar Rush game in the movie
was anyone else annoyed beyond all hell that the movie's unintentional moral is "it's ok to abuse glitches as long as they're not PHYSICALLY gamebreaking, but
MECHANICSWISE IT'S TOTALLY OK AS LONG AS YOU'RE HAVING FUN"?
vanellope yes, is "the glitch" but multiple times in the film she uses it to basically noclip (i counted about 4 or 5 times)
"the fans loved her, glitch and all" - well yeah no shit she basically noclips to 1st place every race"

btw at any point during the film did anyone realize that there's probably other arcades in the area?
like what if the ralph machines in those arcades just coped with their inability to be the good guy..............................................

I just saw it yesterday! I must say... that was an amazing movie! I loved all the video game references here and there.
Did anyone catch the "All your base are belong to us" graffiti at the very beginning on the movie? It was very brief.

Saw this the other day... My brother and I are still talking about it. And I don't usually like movies. Gotta say, the story itself is pretty good... but in my opinion, the gold is in the subtleties and the execution.
When I first saw Venellope and her glitchiness, the very first thing I thought was "unused beta character"... a thought backed up by her knowledge of the unfinished track that she calls her home. In a way, that could be another explanation for why she's depicted on the side of the machine, but not an available racer as the art for the machine might have been finalized before they realized they couldn't finish her in time.
But that's just me overthinking it, I guess.
Also... Didn't the appearance of Cybug-Turbo just scream True Last Boss? It had everything! The cracked cobble-Mentos floor of a "volcanic" arena... the imminent destruction of the world unfolding around them... the twisted version of a villain thought to be defeated... That was genius. At least, that's what I was thinking when I saw it.

Well, he did say "Get ready for the boss level." Or something to that effect at least.

Absolutely loved it, probably the best video game movie ever (I guess that doesn't take a masterpiece, though)
The short they showed before it was pretty nice too

Oh geez, I just saw the movie now. Aren't I late?
Most of the time during the movie, I was looking for all the references and all that. Like any of us won't do that during the movie.

I wasn't expecting King Candy to be Turbo! That was surprising! I wish I saw a clearer image of him in a 3D model though.

I am going to be completely honest, I started to kick myself when that happened. Mostly because the game they were in was a racing game. I should have seen that twist coming from miles away, and yet I somehow missed it :C

Finally saw it. It's good. Just not Disney good. But I liked it.
You just gotta go in there and remember Disney will never be as good as they used to be.
But yeah it was fun!
