It's funny the scan says that it's type is a secret. Why would it's type be a secret? They never did that before... did they?
My first thought on the type was that it could be flying.

It may be a bit of a stretch, but the color scheme/ design is similar to Skyla:

Either way, considering all of the other generations that had eevee evolutions also had evolutions of other previous pokemon as well, I think it's safe to say there will be a lot more to look forward to in that aspect. Smile
Also keeping with generation tradition, because this is an even gen there will be no poison blob Pokemon. That's only odd. Hm what else do they do that we might predict?

It's quite possible that they'll introduce a brand new type. I can't really think of much myself, and I don't know when the last time was that they did so, but I think it would be cool see a new type or two. It would be a bit inconsistent with previous gens but meh.

My first thoughts were that it might be Psychic, but Espeon already is. In that case, if it isn't a new type, I think it'll probably be either Fighting or possibly Flying. The former seems more likely though.
here is another pic of the mentioned Eevee enjoy Smile

You're right, it could be a new type. But by the looks of Nympheon (as everyone is calling it) the type is not at all obvious.

Besides what new type could they come up with besides... um... Sound Type?

I always wanted a Sound type ever since Whismur and Soundproof was a thing. There's already a bunch of sound based moves out there.

I figure Sound type moves would be super effective against Steel (because tuning forks) and Ice (because avalanches)

gross
So I was right, it is a new type. I totally wasn't expecting that Shy

I guess Light type makes sense, since Umbreon was Dark and the Dark type was generally missing an opposite counterpart. The main problem with introducing a new type is, as I said, it'd be inconsistent with previous gens which could/should have Pokemon with this type. I mean OK, giving a Pokemon an additional type in the second gen (e.g. giving Magnemite Steel) is OK, but this far in there'll either have to be 1) no pre-sixth-gen Pokemon with the Light type or 2) various Pokemon suddenly discovered to be Light type, both of which would grind my gears a bit. But no big deal I guess.

I agree with Koopaul though, I think Sound would be a cool new type. It would be a better type for Audino especially, rather than just Normal.
Eh those look more like Japanese characters than "›" or "‹" to me.
You're right, in the second line of its stats in the scan (above its height), you can see the same character in the middle of a word. It's times like this I wish I could read Japanese.

Darn it, where are you, Japanese-reading members of TSR?!?

Don't take Dark-type to be "darkness" - Dark-type is Evil-type in Japan.

It has it's counterpart in Fighting.
Yes what was underlined was hiragana character Ku.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_(kana)

They spelled Aku (Evil) and Kusa (Grass)

Yeah Dark type is known as "Evil Type" in Japanese.
oh God this is pretty cool. I can think of a lot of old Pokémon that could be Light-Type.
in fact Light is something I had an idea for yeeeeears ago when I kept drawing random Fakémon, and it really makes sense especially considering it's one of the only types they haven't used that make sense and can have a lot of purpose.
finally Flash can stop being a Normal-Type move for no reason at all, too!
I honestly thought that the new eeveelution was another form of Victini.
