Defintely 2. Now just add a bright color (something other than the main base color) inside the dark area like Lexou did, without totally copying it of course.
Also, now you just need to round out the bottom of the window.

I'm not sure Exactly what you mean...

Make a brighter color than the dark blue and put it in the dark blue spot like Lexou Duck did in his edit.
Also the window look curved on the bottom, you should make it a bit more rounded on the bottom so it dosnt look like it is half-falling off

that wonky eye was starting to make my eye twitch, the hint of lighting at the back is what jetaku meant though I've probably done it bad.

an edit of design suggestions
I added a seam line and bolts, to break up all of that open space
your port hole is still kind of wonked on the bottom corners

Hopefully I got the Porthole right this time... I also looked at Stitch's Metal Seam and made a Metal Shielded version that is remote controlled
It also fires Syrup

I fixed the shading making it look smoother
Thanks everybody for helping me improve this thing

You have a really bad case of banding all over the sprite now. Keep the previous edit and move the reflective light to the bottom right of the body rather than the top right. Somewhat like this:
Mine on the left, yours on the right
-You had too many colors, which, although smoothed the values out (which isn't too necessary considering it's metal), sacrificed readability
-The shade on the gray was too close to the blue
-Quite a few jagged lines
-Too much AA on the sides receiving light, giving it a pillowshaded look ( by removing the AA the arms appear thicker also)
-many things didn't seem to be shaded correctly.
I didn't do anything to the one with the porthole, because it's part seemed OK.
Good luck o/
EDIT: Now that I look at it, my darker gray could stand to be darker. Just adding this if it helps
