"Luigi's Mansion 2", nice choice for the new old title.

Idk, the minor enemy ghosts seems to have more personality than the original minor ghosts in LM (I mean, from what I've seen, you can usually see them goofing off and what not before they notice you). The bosses we've seen on the other hand seems rather basic, although to be fair, all we've seen is about 5 seconds on the brainy ghost, and 3 second of the giant spider, so I think it's far to early to judge them.

Evidently Americans didn't want "2" to be attached next to a sequel.

I doubt that's the case.

Nintendo is usually pretty secretive about the bosses for the most party. If anything I'm betting my two cents there will be portrait and boss ghosts, but they won't occur as often as the first game.

For all I care, I just want another boss like Bogmire. That boss at least scared the shit out of me when I first played the game.
I like the part where this suddenly got multiplayer.
My guess is Nintendo didn't want to scare away new customers who didn't know there was a first Luigi's Mansion. Afterall it was over 10 years ago on a system many never had. So they are going to pretend this is a stand-a-lone title.

Just a theory, I know NOA can be pretty crazy when it comes to localization.
According to Mariowiki, there are 5 mansions so far, with the Scarescraper being Multiplayer only.

Gloomy Mansion - A standard mansion.
Old Clockworks - A clockwork mansion in a desert environment.

The other three, which are unnamed are:

A snowy mansion.
A mansion built around a giant tree.
A mansion with a ship at the side, Boo shaped statues near the stairs and a tower with a moon shaped roof. This is presumably King Boo's main hideout in the game.

Hopefully they're more.
Hopefully they're full featured mansions and not quick to complete. That would be a freaking shame.
Hopefully it won't take me four hours to 100% it.
From whats been said, theres only a few mansions, but you have to go back and forth between them at times. Once you get an item in one, you can go farther in another, so I don't think theres any worries of the game being too short since it's not like you enter a mansion then try to complete it as fast as possible.
And even if it was short that's okay, because there's nothing wrong with replaying a good game Cute
Hello where is everyone Very Sad

I just beat the final boss and gotta say it's a good game. There's a few smaller mansions and a mission system instead of everything in the same mansion, but that's not a bad thing I guess. They've got some nice different locations and the game looks great, too. There's a bunch of stuff to search and collect for completeness, too, but that's not really my thing. The story isn't really complicated but rather functional but it's alright.

Haven't played the multiplayer yet, though.

Nobody?

Shy

To see that, you'll have to play Mario & Luigi PiT. He doesn't look much different except for no wrinkles and black hair.
