I still think you need to take the highlights off the mountains. Like Cshad said, they just look bubbly right now.
Honestly, it'd add realism to the piece.
Also, add reflections of the mountains on the water.
^^^example of useful critique
thanks, i'll try both of those !
move the clearest part of the moon's reflection a bit to the left to match the moon's position.
some updates
On the second pixel, is that an Indian reservation on the right?
As usual You are a 'effing legend man. I see nothing wrong there.

Move on!
some other updates, slowly getting closer to a stopping point. maybe sometime THIS month V:
The clouds on the second piece are lovely, I like seeing you improve Dex.
You've gone from mediocre Mario sprites (your older ones) to greatly detailed scenery. There's still a lot you can learn though, keep up the good work.

It's great work Dex, saw the first one's progress on Pixelation
I think you should put lighter shading on the branches (remember, the lightsource is the moon, it's not a ground-based light source), plus I'm wondering if the kid and some stone shouldn't be darker, as the moon is pretty low.
I'm not too comfortable with the purple blob at the base of the mountains on the second piece, but then it's still a WIP.
Can't wait to see the end of these!
The second one looks amazing, it's a really great style.
