Good question, I haven't bought it yet. I'll find out soon.

Only if it's a Game Boy Color game, like Link's Awakening DX. Super Mario Land 2 displays in black and white (or, if you're really nostalgic, you can switch it to pea-soup-green and black).

Unfortunately I don't think eShop games are an option, if I recall correctly it's kind of like Steam where you have to add money with your credit card (or special card codes you can buy over-the-counter) right? Yeah, in this situation I don't think it's possible. Either way this is might be the only time for a while we can actually buy cartridge games so may as well do that.
If we ever buy something from the eShop though I'll consider The Six Golden Coins.

Wait, why don't you wait to get Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon?

Well first of all we can only get it within a certain time (simply put, family member is going overseas for a week or two and can buy some stuff), and I don't know if it'll be out by then. If we could get it any time, we'd wait for Dream Team.
Secondly, I haven't played the first Luigi's Mansion so I don't know how it plays, or the concept. I realise this isn't a big deal really (I can search it up and all), but it seems like I'd enjoy it more if I played the original first. Plus multiplayer is apparently a big thing in Dark Moon, and as mentioned earlier we don't really have anyone to play with.

You haven't? That's a shame. It's a charming game. Luigi's Mansion is short though, but it doesn't hurt it much.

Pugg, do you have something that can play GCN games?
Because I'm definitely sending a copy of Luigi's Mansion your way if I can find it.

Dolphin
If I could get a Gamecube/Wii, I sure as hell would though.
I do really want to play it sometime, having Luigi as a protagonist seems awesome, especially since he still keeps his scaredy-cat character. If I ever get to chance to grab at least a copy, I'll do so.
Anybody have anything more to say about the Mario games though? It's still a while until the decision has to be made, and I really like reading what you guys have to say about them.

Well I do have good news regarding those atrocious NSMB games. Iwata confirmed in an interview that there won't be any more of them for this gen of systems.

To be fair though, thats one player only so the level design will most likely differ greatly compared to the recent NSMB games, which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Just wanted to say that even though Luigi's Mansion was short it had far more re-playability than most of the other games on gamecube...
Right behind Smash bros.

Its definitely a replayable game. But I think the Wind Waker and Jungle Beat had better replayability than Luigi's Mansion.
