Athiesm still isn't a religion, as it's not a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices. Athiests' beliefs vary like the color spectrum. The one shared idea is that there is no God(s) or higher powers behind the curtain calling the shots of the universe.

EDIT: to be on topic though, there's already idiots saying this was orchestrated to campaign for the limiting of sales for ammunition and gunpowder. These people just make me so mad. >:L
Yeah, as terrible as the event is and as thankful as I am that there were so few fatalities, one of the first things that crossed my mind was how people were going to use this as fodder for arguing against anything resembling gun control...

It's fine if you like it (I couldn't disagree with you more) but you can't just say "it's great, now shut it"

I honestly don't see how you can say "Anything to help you cope, even if you have to make up an imaginary unicorn friend so you can escape reality"

The problems are still here, you have to deal with them

assuming youre talking with me due to unicorns

1-i did not glorify religion. I just pointed a good point of it. I even said it does not matter in what you believe or not: it is the reaction you have for the people and the victims.

2-the thread is not about religion, it is about the bombing in Boston. I think it is better if you talked about the bombing in Boston instead of religion.

3-people are different and some need a mental walking stick. That is religion. If you are fine without it, then it´s ok too. Deal with it.

I don´t mind discussing this, but don´t take it personally with ironic smilies and derailing the thread topic.
Directed at you and orgasmatron

the first part was at him the rest was you

I still disagree with " people need a mental walking stick"

I apologize for derail so im just gonna stop here
Apparently my friend's mom was in the marathon.
She wasn't injured but that's still pretty scary
It's sad how being Middle Eastern is enough to be a suspect. You'd think after 12 years we would be above that.

Wow thats quite saddening...

There was a shooting at MIT

It seems that Boston can't catch a break :/

Apparently the same suspects of the Boston bombings were behind this. Both Russian apparently and the one in the black hat dead.

Knowing the majority of the populations of each town in Mass haven't been getting along with the Russians at all in recent years this is certainly going to cause more racial issues against the Russian population here.
The 2 were brothers from Chechnya, which I think is an area that frequently has violent disputes with Russia (it's part of russia but not willingly) and also has a high population of radical muslims.
Yup, jihadis were to blame all along.

Disgusting, but not surprising.
At least they caught the bastard who's alive.

Thank god because now I can rest easy tonight.

The New Yorker? Honestly, I believe their stories as much as I believe Fox News.

Anyway the suspect is captured but in critical condition at the hospital. I don't know what that means but he may die, and we may never get all the answers we need.
