I did actually manage to have a coherent conversation with me typing romaji. It was with a different group, though, because those two were alternating between ajsgfjhsf and asking for money. I felt proud of myself for understanding what they were asking of me, heh. (Though it was basic "Can you speak Japanese?", "How old are you?", etc.)
