I like that we're getting some disconfirmations, actually. RIP, Dillon & Wonder Red.

You would think that Sakurai, the guy that's always complaining about Nintendo never getting any new original IPs, would have pushed to make Wonder Red a playable character ...

That doesn't mean too much. I mean, playable characters have trophies too

It would be cool if any of the Wonderful 101 characters become playable, but one thing that is worth mentioning is that those characters were supposed to be actual Nintendo characters before Nintendo thought better of it. Considering that characters like Wonder Red and Wonder Blue were supposed to be Mario and Link respectively, it would be hard to put them in regarding that.

No it wouldn't.

Because they aren't. Whatever they were intended to be and what they actually are are very different things, and what they are are unique characters. Ones which are, apparently, not lost on Nintendo merely because of what may have been.
