you guys do know on the miiverse he mentioned that all the main wonderful 101 are gonna be trophy's as well? That usually only happens when there is a character that is playable from the series. Now Sakurai is a pretty trolling guy, remember he said there was going to be no zero suit samus then boom in the next scene she is shown.
But you can also use Brawl as a counter argument to that claim. Animal Crossing had a crapton of trophies in brawl, yet that was because it had a stage with a bunch of npcs. It is possible the Wonderful cast is getting trophies to go with a stage.
True fair enough but when brawl was being developed didn't Sakurai say he didn't want any animal crossing characters playable?
I hope that the Wonderful 101 are playable though, and not just trophies.

Actually, he and the Animal Crossing developer (director? producer?) went over ideas for who could be playable and what they couldo do, but nothing seemed to fit Sakurai's vision at the time.
I think all this really proves is that Wonder Red is NOT playable, and that several of the other Wonderful Ones aren't either. Nothing else can really be made clear at this point.
Personally, I'd love some sort of stage, or if there WAS a playable character, what if it was all 100 of them scaled down who moved and attacked completely as a group.

holy shit, stop using the word "obligation." the only obligation smash has is to bring back the original twelve every time, and even then that's only a pattern exhibited by two games and IN THEORY could change at any moment. smash bros. is not obligated to have a water-fire-grass pokemon triangle--it's ALSO not obligated to have both mario and luigi, the courage-wisdom-power triangle from zelda, ice climbers, mr. game & watch, wario, or basically anything that gets into smash bros.
"obligation" is not some end-all shutdown trump card you can pull to stop people from having fun speculating. there are legitimate reasons to think that we won't get a playable grass starter pokemon, and that is not one of them.
