I currently only own the 3DS, but I would more than welcome different rosters between the systems and/or the ability to transfer the rosters and stages from one version to the other (kind of like what they did with Mario Tenns GBC/N64).

Also, that Battlefield stage is beautiful. I love the painted look to it and the sunset glaciers.

I don't know. It really sounds to me like we are getting the same rosters in each version based on what he said.

You see he said it while mentioning that there are different stages in each version. So him saying that the roster will have the same number of characters sounds like he's reassuring the audience to me.

Sounds like the dude really takes this seriously.

He said he was having difficulties with Ice Climbers, I wonder if they'll get the boot.

Anyway based on that early illustration he teased a while back we know Game & Watch, Meta Knight and Luigi are still there in addition to the ones already shown in the trailer.

Oh man, characters getting cut. I'm just going to hope for only clones getting cut.

Well maybe Ice Climbers will still be in. The way he said it in the interview seems like he's trying his hardest to get them in there. Who knows. I do have a bad feeling Pokemon Trainer will be cut due to space issues he's having. Unfortunate.

Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me. So yes, those are all the confirmed characters we have so far. Anyone else find it strange Yoshi hasn't appeared yet? They showed the entire original 8 characters of Smash 64 except him... how odd. I'm sure he'll still be there. I hope.

Didn't the early illustration he teased also have a Mr. Saturn, doesn't that confirm Ness or another Earthbound/Mother Character in smash as well?

I'm sure Yoshi will show up since he's got at least two games in the works.

I think Luigi is the only clone not at risk and Lucario the only not-clone at risk. Based on what Sakurai said about uniqueness of characters, even Ganondorf might be cut, unless his moveset gets an overhaul. Ice Climbers are too unique to throw away, so they aren't going anywhere.
