Hmm when you put it that way, I guess you make a good point. I was rather indifferent to their exclusion because without transformation characters being a feature it didn't seem necessary for them to be included individually along with Charizard. However they were both exceedingly unique characters; maybe not so much in some of their specials, but their normal attacks definitely. Ivysaur especially; the way he had to plod around on all fours at all times and perform his attacks with an item on his backside definitely gave him some very unique abilities. So I can understand now how people can be disappointed in their exclusion.
Well, to be fair they haven't been CONFIRMED to be excluded. It seems that way to me, but then again every major reveal had been a surprise to me, whether timing or just in general.
Also, was Tuesday's pic of the day comment a hint at NFC?
You made me so paranoid that I looke up the director's room. Took me like 5 minutes with my service so slow.
Then I actually read the files in the background and now I can't stop laughing.
Whoah, two stage reveals in a single week? Are they stepping up the reveals now?
Pity that's it's another Fire Emblem arena type stage. The Fire Emblem stage for the 3DS is already an arena.
It was actually pretty interesting choosing the Coliseum as the WiiU Fire Emblem stage. I literally forgot about that mechanic.
See, in the older Fire Emblem games (well, at least the GBA ones), coliseums were an easy way of getting experience. You'd send a unit and some money in and get stuck fighting a random opponent. If you won, you got the muchly saught after experience as well as funds. If you lost? You not only lost your unit for good, but the money you wagered as well. The Coliseums never returned in the Gamecube Path of Radiance, nor in the muchly reamped Fire Emblem Awakening.
So yeah, when Sakurai spoke of "Hope and Despair", he meant literally.
Though I think this reveal means we won't be seeing a Fire Emblem newcomer at e3. Newcomers usually have a stage attached to them when they debut. With Coliseum and Arena Ferox already shown off, I doubt we'll be seeing any more Fire Emblem stages. But hey, the Punch Out!! boxing ring skin for the normal Smash boxing ring really shook things up. Who knows anymore, really.
Wario and Ice Climbers for E3 plz.
Did Brawl go through two E3's, or just one? I can't remember. If it had two, I don't remembering them doing anything special for the second one.
Well, I'm also certain that Mewtwo's not going to be coming back
Sakurai said he's cutting down on clones
Mewtwo is a clone of mew
but
Lucario is a clone of Mewtwo...
Commenters in other communities over the internet have such high expectations for E3, ranging from like 5 vets and 3 newcomers and so much silly crap.
Personally? I'd be happy with just a release date.
All I expect is one newcomer, see putting my expectations that low will totally make anything above it super great.
I'm merely expecting one newcomer, one veteran, and two new stages; one for each version.
But I wouldn't mind if they didn't reveal any of that stuff and just focused on game features. It's the features I'm really interested in at this point.
I'm expecting three newcomers and six veterans because screw you, I'm greedy.
