I think there will be more colours, but they had to include four each so if someone picked the same character they were coloured. Remember, Little Mac's Wireframe outfit isn't there. I'm sure we'll get the standard 6 colours per character as always.
There will definitely be more colors. The given colors in the demo don't even include a red color for the Wii Fit Trainer (only blue and green) which is critical for Team battles. So yeah, there definitely will be more colors available in the final product, no question about it.
Well, it's not AS critical with the addition of the colored outlines, assuming that's a thing on the wii u
Preeeeetty sure that's only a feature on the 3DS.
Here's a video with some of the alternate colors for smash characters
Already been posted.
I'm excited to see what some of the future pics of the day have in store. I'm expecting a lot will be stuff covered already at e3, but in between that I'm sure there will be some nice new info too.
Well let's see, there are 16 full weeks between now and the 3DS release date. That's 80 days worth of updates, and since characters are always announced on Fridays with the exception of special events, 15 chances for characters to be revealed (the final Friday not counted because it's the actual release day).
My hope is that the updates between now and then will have a heavy focus on the special features and modes in the 3DS version, and then heavy focus on the Wii U features after the 3DS release. I REALLY want to know what all those new modes they showed us glimpses of during E3 are all about.
Personally I don't mind if they don't reveal any more characters between now and the 3DS launch; if everyone else remains a surprise that is just fine with me. Although I wouldn't mind either if they at least verified Ness and the Ice Climbers. (Captain Falcon should remain secret until release, however, simply because I find it funny).
There will also be a Nintendo Direct in August, so expect to see at least one Newcomer then.

Really? When was that said?
I was trying to figure that out myself. Google comes up with nothing.
I'm pretty sure he was just estimating.
They're doing a Direct just for my birthday, guys.
They're going to announce Birthday Balloon and Hat Pikachu as a costume.
Bundt will be a new character.
Man I would totally love to have a cake stage to play on. They could go with the obvious one and make a Peach cake (if we really wanted another Mario stage) but I think a great one would to be to do a cake from Kirby's Epic Yarn. MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Anyways, I'm sure everyone has seen this but we haven't really talked about it:
The most interesting parts to me:
- Mega Man fires a black-holish thing to ensnare people before his cinematic starts. I was not expecting anything like that.
- Pikachu's FS definitely seems to be faster and easier to control; but what's interesting about it is that it is now led by a smaller spark to sort of help the player see what direction they are going. Kind of like a cursor. Makes me kind of wonder if some of these FSes will be controllable via the gamepad touchscreen.
- Luigi's FS works much different than I expected it to. I was expecting it to basically suck up everything within a large area directly in front of him, but he kind of goes crazy with it and sucks up everything all around him.
- I thought during the tourney that the player was actively firing the lasers on ZSamus' ship during her final smash, but after watching it more closely I realized that it actually fires at set timed intervals and all you do is aim. This does make it a bit more avoidable, since if you can get the timing right you can dodge out of the way right before it fires.
- Bowser still becomes Giga Bowser, but with a more primary-color palette. What is super interesting, though, is that he retains all his animations from Brawl and has not been upgraded with "upright Bowser" moves. He is still hunched, he still slides across the stage when he runs, and he still uses all the same attacks.
- Donkey Kong's has been updated with a helpful visual indicator to let people know when to press the button with the beat. I'm guessing this is because a lot of people didn't even realize you could DO that in Brawl.
Be prepared for the same final smashes for other characters too, like Falco, Wolf and Ganondorf. Although it IS hard to tell what will be what, with certain Final Smashes getting changed like Luigi's.
I do like that the Giga Bowser time limit seems to be extended from the brawl version. That could just be me not remembering it right, but it would be a welcome change.
