i have my nephew (hes 6) over for a couple weeks, so i set up the wii for him to play
he immediately picks smash bros, yay

hes never played it before, so we played teams, i had him pick characters
he obviously chose MetaKnight (so cool, look at the sword)
for me, he said "uhh, just be the robot"

ugh, ROB

-or so I thought..

as i watched him spam the tornado attack the whole time while i picked up the slack, i realized that i actually liked using ROB

A really unique character, and his smash style is very clever

so sitting there with my little buddy it began to dawn on me that this character i just opened my eyes to most likely will never show up
in another Smash Bros

ive gotta be like the only guy that actually wants ROB back in

and another door appears high above the first one and captain toad falls out of it

(he's really heavy to compensate)

ROB4SMASH

Not just you. R.O.B. is also one of my top picks in Brawl. After C. Falcon, Toon Link and Sonic of course.

ROB is one of the most awesome Brawl newcomers. I think he mainly gets a lot of flack because he's a tangible gaming device rather than an in-game character. For the time it was pretty awesome, it was like a character for a game was able to sit right with you... It's just that his applications were limited.

But the most important part of ROB is his purple alternate color: it's the closest we've had so far to having a Startropics character in Smash Bros.

I definitely want ROB to come back, and I honestly don't think he's on his way out.

Captain Toad: Obviously he would just have a really weak jump, but a creative solution could be a grappling hook that allows him to climb up to higher platforms or to yank airborn enemies to the ground.

Gotta say, really not loving the black outline on Pac's pixel fruit. It would have looked a lot better if they just went around the sprite with black pixels of matching size rather than generate an outline frame around it.

A playable (Captain) Toad should take inspiration from SMB2 Toad, Wario's Woods and Captain Toad's levels, perhaps a bit from 3D World's Toad. Come to think of it, he doesn't jump in Wario's Woods either.

Considering the lack of legs for Toads, it makes sense that their jumping skills are abysmal.

If R.O.B. doesn't make it back as a character, he'd make an awesome stage.

I also like R.O.B. and would like his return.
I'm probably the only one that wants him to have an Ancient Minister alt costume though.

On that note: If they snuck a subspace themed normal stage, he could sneak in as a bossm(if not playable), considering there's likely at least two stages with a boss gimmick.

I'm more worried about the ice climbers returning than R.O.B. since nintendo seems to like cameoing R.O.B. in games.

Would be nice to see smash bros become his new consistent home.

(R.O.B's other option might be to return as a peripheral... maybe an Amiibo or a next gen R.O.B. Imagine a rebuilt R.O.B that could play any modern controller.....)

That sounds logical, but it ignores the fact that Toads can be seen jumping on par with Mario in multiple games.


Also: An Ancient Minister costume for ROB would be slick. Now that it's been mentioned, I remember hoping something like that would have shown up in Project M.
