What I think I'd love to see with Pichu is moves that normal pichus couldn't learn expect through events. For example, using surf with a surf board (I know it was technically a Pikachu that did that, but whatever). Also, I'd love to see the Notch-eared design make an appearance. Minor design change, but I'd play that so hard.
I think this is relevant. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyone else notice that they're using genderless pronouns for Lucario.
"It" this and "it" that.
I think Nintendo has always referred to Pokemon by "it" when it comes to those in Smash Bros (I at least remember the Pokemon in Brawl being "it"s as well).
But we know Pikachu has to be a male. We assume Jigglypuff is a female.
but maybe both pikachu and jigglypuff are androgynous
i think sakurai with ''it'' the spieces.
Well with Pikachu, the tail is indicative of a male, as female Pikachu have tails that are vaguely heart-shaped at the tip. Therefore I think it's safe to assume that SSB Pikachu is male. The other Pokemon species represented, however, have no physical differences between the sexes, so it could be either.
I think it would be interesting if Pikachu's alternate colors gave it the girl tail for one or two of them. I:
Considering Lucarios are more likely born males, it's easy to assume that it is a he.
Mewtwo is a hermaphrodite, with the dominant gender being decided by what Mega Stone it's holding.
Genderless, my furry, kitten butt.
I've gone with two thoughts about the Pokemon (and Yoshi) in the Smash Bros. franchise:
1: They are a particular member of their species with a gender which probably correlates to that of the anime.
2: They are a non-particular member of their species and the roster slot is simply representative of the species, thus each alternate palette technically being multiple individuals and, with the exception of the SSE, alternate individuals for every instance in which the character is chosen.
Also, I would totally be behind gender skins like with WFTrainner.
On Mewtwo: I definitely view Mewtwo as a male regardless of mega form. Even disregarding that, it's possible that a genetic anomaly such as a Mega Evolution or Pokemon in general could change gender to suit the situation (base form being Male, fairy form being Female, for example). Even in real life some amphibians and reptiles exhibit the ability to change gender.
so we might not get the spear pillar back as retro stage, if we get retro stages in back in first place
or alfonzo, replaces palkia
leave it to me!
Sakurai can you forget Gen 4 ever happened and show us some cool 5th and 6th gen mons?!
(I guess this keeps my pipe dream character of N using Reshiram and Zekrom safe....for now)

This is my reasoning to assume all Mewtwo forms are male, other than the voice actor in the anime.
It'd be really cool if he made an appearance, but I'm kind of worried now, what with Lucario being on the roster.

Does this implies you hate Gen 4 or do you just want them to show other Gen's Pokemon?
If the latter, yeah, that'd be nice. I can imagine an Hydreigon appearing and using a triple Hyper Beam (or Tri Attack) from each of its "mouths".
