I was going to call a hoax but then I googled it.

It's for real. And to be honest, about time. Pokemon needs a new take on anime anyways. (although I'd love to see a trailer)

Not sure which one to post in since they'll eventually be merged. Since this one has the word "anime" in the title, I'll just post here.

It's been confirmed to be a special, not a weekly series. If they're planning to cover all the key points of the Kanto Journey, that's a hell of a lot to cram into a small special. I believe it's also been confirmed that Leaf/Blue(Japan) is not to make an appearance either.

I wonder if they'll change their minds if this garners more attention than the current stale anime. I was hoping after this supposed arc finished, it'd move on to Gold/Silver/Crystal with the respective protagonists and plotline (thus, concluding with Gold battling Red), continuing down the line of games, but I guess that was a little too much to ask for.
