Since you mentioned it, Ton, I thought I saw someone said something about how similar the fairies are to the Chaos Emeralds. With all these apparent Sonic references thus far, you think a few ex-Sega employees worked on this game?
The seven magical whatsits with the bright and beautiful colors is too much of a fantasy-genre cliche to relate to just one franchise, and it's been used a dozen times in Mario alone (Crystal Stars, Star Spirits, the star pieces in Mario RPG, etc.)
"All these apparent Sonic references"? Like what? I'm pretty sure they are supposed to represent the area they're rescued. As in the red one is from the Volcano area, the green one from the plains, the light blue one from ice (or cloud) level, etc
Okay, I will admit that seven of something important has been done to death in almost any video game franchise, but have you noticed Bowser's swanky amusement park? It would certainly seem like something Eggman would do.
Sure, the fairies are a conscience, but I have a hunch the park isn't.
While the park might have some Sonic influence (it's possible), it also fits in with things Bowser has done in the past. Such as his clown car or, if we can dance back to 2002 for a bit, Mecha-Bowser.
Well, to be fair, Eggman... never did quite finish Eggman Land, except in Sonic Unleashed, where it was an amusement park (but more like a factory). There's Sonic Colors, but that's a whole different concept.
And to be fair as silly as the name is... Eggman Land was never said to be an actual amusement park

Speaking of which, even though Bowser did those things before Sega and Nintendo had a "truce" of sorts, they all seem like things Dr. Eggman would have done himself. The Clown Car is almost identical in function to the Eggmobile, while a giant robot in his likeness has been done more than once by Eggman.
Sure, these are all coincidences and Bowser needs to grow a mustache and gain a high IQ (bragging about having an IQ of 4,500 in that one mediocre Mario Party game doesn't count) before he could be close to copying Eggman, but it almost seems like Nintendo borrowed some ideas from Sega (well, almost anyway).

I guess 7 worlds are confirmed ehe
and holy shit this is so cute
I... I already want to see them in Paper Mario style.
You know, that sounds like an interesting project I could try... But which Paper Mario style do you have in mind? Would it be the style of the first game or the later games?
Gonna keep my fingers crossed until they break that this will have online multiplayer.
I'll be getting it the day it is released, but I seriously hope it has it. I don't really have the luxury of local multiplayer : /
The problem is that Nintendo believes games like these are only good with local multiplayer. They think more competitive ranking based games are good for online, like racing, sports, fighting, or shooting games. But more cooperative games like these Miyamoto believes is better with in room interaction.
But, even in games like these, there's ALWAYS some sort of competition going on.
It's kind of disgusting how Nintendo doesn't believe in options.
Yeah they're pretty stubborn.
