Haha, yeah, back when I first started spriting and pixeling, I couldn't manage a project to save my life, I always got part of the way through it and gave up or got bored, but now I'm sticking with this to see where it leads me.

I love it! The story line is great, and the sprites look very professional looking. My main focus in this post is the underwater background. I really like it, but I think it might look more underwater like, if there were some currents or bubbles floating around in the background, it might look cooler. I also suggest giving certain sprites a tint of blue when they are underwater.
Other than that, I can't really give any critisizm.

Ah, there will be color changes for underwater, and bubbles are a must, yes. A current would be a bit tougher, but hey, I've got nothing to lose, right? Thanks!

Dex meets this guy, Roen, (another plot twist you'll learn about later) halfway through the game, gets the SQUIRE suit from him, etc etc.

My small break on this project is up!
I had previously taken a small break from this project, seeing how I worked on it quite a lot. I'm officially back to work, and we SHOULD have a demo by the end of August. Maybe even featuring a boss. :]
So, here's an update. It was originally for a Mega Man project with Pucifur, but he seemingly doesn't want to work on that anymore, so I've updated it and changed some things to make it more SQUIRE.
So understand, I'm not finished with this project. I'm not gonna give up on it.

it looks to me like the uppercut sprites, it loosk as though he's slowing down, and his hand disapears, the effect is ther,e butm I think it should go faster rather than slightly stopping

His hand doesn't disappear, and you really didn't give me enough info to know what to correct. If you used a bit better grammar it would help with your explanation.
