Not sure how Marina would fare in a Smash Bros. game, but Goemon has definitely been a prevalent third party character along Nintendo's timeline.

also, Marina in SSB looks interesting... as well as Goemon.

SSB needs more original characters and less Mario/Zelda characters, in my opinion.
