I actually haven't seen many indie games that showcase low poly graphics, at least in not so subtle way. I know that many of the DS games have it, which is expected for the system's limitations, but with today's limitations, I really haven't see anything that uses this style to it's full potential.

I'd like to redirect everyone to this thread for a second.
Holy crap.
After seeing that thread, it makes me wonder why Nintendo couldn't follow that thread's example and have the DS games look like that when played on a 3DS.
Nor will they on the Wii U.
Regardless, the screen resolution is still too small on the 3DS to achieve these effects (as impressively)
I'm sorry, but am I the only one who doesn't like those? I've seen a thread about "DS HD" before, and I don't think it looks very good. The texture resolutions don't match and the HUD is so low-res and stands out. Also, there's no anti-aliasing.
Nah I agree with you Paladin.
I don't think lowpoly models have ever left. I find they have a certain charm, may it be with pixel art resolution textures or not. I think you can compare the placing of tris to the placing of pixels.
Totally looks like something from an N64/PSX game (bar the low res HUD)
Well, I think any DS sprite will look pretty pixellated. Textures are too, but they don't look that bad.
I think nowadays polys aren't THAT necessary. They are, for animating. But for details you can use bump maps and the such. And there are some other techniques, I think, for rounding surfaces.
But I don't know!
I've always loved the N64 polygons, not too complicated, and yet just good enough to get the job done.

From the screenshots, Prime Hunters is one of my favourite transitions. I found the DS's resolution too low for it
