Lana is sorceress with a deep knowledge of spells, monsters, and using spells on monsters. She’s very energetic and ready to give the war for Hyrule everything she’s got.
Lana and Cia have an unspoken hostility, even beyond the normal anger that war brings out. Lana is fiercely determined to put a halt to Cia’s plans, even at the cost of her own life or happiness.
Don’t underestimate Lana just because she’s usually so optimistic! Her natural athletic energy serves her well and allows her to quickly dive around her enemies and attack with her book of sorcery, which utilizes electrifying spells that her enemies never see coming.
While searching for the Gate of Souls, Lana takes a detour to rescue Agitha from a horde of monsters, ultimately recruiting her to the greater cause.
Nothing really new here, except for the thing about the Gate of Souls.
and my theory is out the window :'^)
oh well i'm okay with an oc too
Video showing Lana's combat moves.
wow. i will be playing her for sure she really gets my weiner in a twist
Her moves are pretty cool (they remind me of the Cane of Somaria from LttP) but she feels kind of... out of place. Like all her anime-ish giggling and posing doesn't seem very "Zelda" to me.
I was thinking the same thing about her being really out of place. She feels excessively generic anime.
"Link teams up with bubbly Magical Girl Lana in his next great adventure!"
That was pretty much my impression as well (To be fair, she only giggles twice.)
That said, Link, Zelda, Impa and Midna seem to follow their old "personalities" well enough, so at least it doesn't seem like they've butchered those.
Besides her personality, anime hair colors and miniskirts just aren't very common in Zelda, so that helps making her look out of place.

Midna supposedly starts out as an antagonist.
You know, the fact that Link's scarf actually appears in the game's logo wrapped around the sword makes me wonder if it's actually plot relevant and not simply a flare they added.

SHE LOOKS SO FUN AAAA
Yick. Way too cheesy anime. Not the good kind of anime. Now I'm really scared for this game's cutscenes and story.
Really you should have been scared for that kind of stuff from day one, this is Tecmo Koei we're talking about.
I actually think she looks fine. I mean, everyone already has a bit more of an anime look, and Zelda characters are a little bit anime looking as it is. I mean, they're designed by a japanese game company. Blue hair isn't entirely unheard of in the Zelda universe either, it's just very few characters overall.
Actual blue blue hair is often treated in Japanese works as if it is a common hair color. This is especially true in franchises where they prefer to avoid using black as a hair color period, and Zelda is one of those franchises.
But teal hair like this? Not so much.
In the words of Strong Bad, "You gotta have blue hair!"
