The VG Resource

Good job, everyone! Game Gors is now a successful game console in Bangladesh, Liechtenstein and Myanmar, thanks to all your games.

But not everything is good news for us. There are some rivals that are cloning our hardware and they're a threat to the world domination Gorscorp's business.

So I projected another game console. One that will rock the gamers' socks. I present you the Super Game Gors! (no, it's not a toaster)



Since it's not done yet, games aren't still possible. But here are the specs:

1- screen size: 320x240
2- you can have any color you want, however a sprite may only use 8 colors at once, including transparency.
3- graphics are stored in 8x8 tiles, much like the predecessor.

This time, your task is to grab one of the past entries, and UPGRADE IT to the updated hardware! Give them a breath of fresh air, with colors and bigger screen!

RULES:

1- Grab an entry of this competition and revamp ONE OF ITS SCREEN.
2- IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE A FAITHFUL COPY. You can change the HUD, color the characters as you want, but the finished piece must be similar to the original image.
2- Obey the specs mentioned above.
3- If you participated on that competition, you cannot pick your own entry to revamp!
4- More than one person may revamp the same game.
5- You can make additional screens and animations, as well as work upon the original game concept. They more you make the entry appealing, the better!

Okay, drunken post aside... I can't wait to update Optional Paralysis and tinker around with the story.
(I wish having a set story and concept for your game was a requirement. It's easy enough shitting out a few screen shots, but actually developing a story, plot, and gameplay for a game is a whole 'nother ball park(a ball park I always found more interesting))

pay attention though, you get one entry (that isn't yours) from the past competition and you need to revamp it. I want to see how well you can handle others' works and make his game an even enjoyable experience!

Making a game for the Gors and Watch might have been interesting, but we must move on and embrace the current generations.

I wanted to work on a game for the toaster Super Game Gors, so I decided to revamp a screen from Recolorme's "Adventure".

A little color-heavy on the character sprites, even with some color reductions. Either we can pretend that both characters rely a bit on layering (the boss would probably be made up of separate moving pieces e.g. a certain Gunstar Heroes boss or two).

Or it can be disqualified. That works, too.

this is valid too. Be creative with what you have, without, of course, overriding the original idea.
