That, and the Pokemon Stadium games I believe.

I'm pretty sure Mischief Makers also required the D-Pad.

This is the best controller:
All the button feel really nice when being pressed, especially those trigger buttons. It also feels nice in the hands, nothing is too big or too small, and everything is in reach.
I can never love a controller with A under B.

X/A is so, so, so much better than Nintendo's B/A
Your right thumb naturally rests in that direction when it's put on the controller.

It's a 3rd party controller. The Razer Onza. It's honestly the best controller I've handled, and I've also only used it for pc games.

i was wondering the same myself. this controller looks like it'd be good in like call of duty where you don't need a d-pad. for casual babby shoot game.
but how would it handle in fighting game???? king of fighter???

which is why most snes games (or at least well-remembered ones) used Y/B
i have no idea why nintendo insists on B/A these days when it's such an uncomfortable position to put your thumb in

As far as 360 controllers go, I'd have to say that this one is much more comfortable than the original.
The Afterglow controller. You guys may remember me posting about buying it on a whim a while back, but I'm so, so glad I did.
It's a wired controller so I only use it for PC games, but its shape is just ever so slightly different than the original 360 controller which causes it to feel really really comfortable in your hands. The plastic for the controller is glossy and smooth, but it doesn't get slippery during long sessions or if your hands get sweaty, and the controller just feels really sturdy overall.
I have to say that this is the best 3rd party controller I've ever used, though it does have a few drawbacks:
edit- Now that the Xbone is out I'm waiting for 360 controller prices to bomb so I can buy up a bunch of them to use as PC controllers

- The D-pad is just a regular 360 D-pad and is still terrible which is really unfortunate
- The start and back buttons are no longer directly beside the guide button which takes some getting used to but isn't too bad
- The guide button is flat, not 3d, and doesn't light up on the inside
- The slightly changed controller dimensions mean that the 360 chatpad is incompatible since it doesn't fit (but then again i dont think that has any use on the pc anyway, does it...?)
- I wish the buttons were backlit too...

Ah yes! I remember having one too, but mine's colour (the light) was green.
Wonderful experience, I can't believe I almost forgot about them. Unfortunately, some dumb animal thought that the wires were tasty... I'll let you guess what happened...

I'm using one right now, great great great controller

I have that same controller and love it. There's also a really nice Afterglow Wii Remote
Mine's green and I love it for most game. The positioning of the + and - buttons make a lot more sense for most games.

The D-Pad I think is a lot better then most. It looks weird, but it feels much more natural then a Playstation Dualshock D-Pad.
