uh
you know you can opt out of those right
not only that but it doesn't even send them to you unless you say so
it sends you an email that specifically says "you wont get more emails unless you click this link"
Oh, okay. It's just that i've had bad experience with something like that with my old email.
EDIT: Done just that. Wow, looks neater than the previous versions. Can't wait to look for some open source engines with it.
Here's hoping a lot of you are taking advantage of this offer.
When's this deal end? It still isn't working.
Quote: If I were you I'd wait until after the promotion is over (as in, after March 2nd.)
Many thanks Viper, I am a forgetful man.
Well... Fuck.
Should've seen this earlier. I guess I'll stick with the Pro version of Game Maker 8...
How do I access the input to use my license now? I can't find the menu.
um
it literally pops up on the screen when you open the program, dude
but assuming that you already set it to free mode, just go to Help > Update License
and put it in the window that pops up.
Mine doesn't look anything like that. Would it be because its the steam version?
what
what do you mean it doesn't look anything like that?
did you click the link in the first post???
how did you even get your license key
Thank you for letting us know! My game stopped development about a week ago, when I realized the new free version was less than the old free version. Hell, the new $50 version is basically the old free version. (In terms of what I'm planning to do with it, at least.)
I'll make you proud! :')

There was a menu when the promotion was going on but now its gone.
The intro for me looks like this.
and the section that comes up to enter in the license key is gone as well.
clicking "make" should bring you to the main game maker studio: free screen (or you might then have to start a new project or something after that)
at that point, it should look like
this screenshot
nope.
