i got the game and a wii u but the wii u has to do a system update and it's going to take an hour i am screaming

So I got Pikmin 3 with my special offer, but it's still offering me another game. Out of principle I'm not going to take it(and because I already have everything else now besides that party game lol) BUT IT'S TEMPTING.

First thing in the morning/afternoon is to pick my copy up. Preordered the collector's edition. Looking forward to it
The DLC? All i can say that it doesn't fit with the art style of Mario. That commercial was funny though.

But, but... I just unlocked the Lightning cup and the retro cups brought back my least favorite tracks from every previous console Mario Kart! Seriously, my least favorite track from each of SNES, N64, Double Dash and Wii are all in here. What did I do to deserve this?

I haven't played any of the handheld Mario Karts except for the GBA one briefly, so I can't really say anything about them.

I kind of dislike the fact that you're now able to only have one item at a time instead of being able to drag one behind you and having another in reserve. The changes the retro stages rubbed me the wrong way too, but holy fuck the music is amazing and the game looks gorgeous

The limited item use actually makes the game a lot less spammy with on field items not being everywhere. Players can actually be defenseless and are forced to use their limited items more wisely. It was a good decision on their part, not at your convenience though

I don't mind the changes to retro stages that much, it gives them a chance to utilize the new game mechanics. I do hate that Classic Rainbow Road is so much shorter. The lap that isn't actually a lap mechanic threw me off the first time I had it happen.
