Short story shorter, the one making the comics died quite some years ago, and now it's there for legacy reasons.
Basically the site died with him.

I figured as much. I wish it could continue, though.

There was a time where it looked liked the chances were quite high of it continuing. We had a rough idea of where it would go, a possible reboot and there was a lot of excitement about redesigning the whole website.
The main problem was N-finity made the whole site, and none of us really knew how it worked. And of course as much as we all loved our little community there, real life got in the way. Wax had quite a bit going on, and I honesty couldn't tell you where he is now. NessaMouse (who I believe was going to run the new comic) I think was just left on hold for too long and as the forum and IRC rooms were very separate at the time, along with timezones, discussion with the 'people in power' was very slow.
Everybody wanted to do something, but well, everything would have led to the 'removal' of N-finity. And in the end, I think we all saw that as too big a price to pay and slowly drifted our separate ways.
There was a kind of relaunch of the forum but after the initial "Hi - I'm back!" - that's kinda been it. I do miss those guys and the great times we had. It was pretty rad.

I believe right now the site is still in existence as a sort of legacy to what N-Finity built up.
