I fixed the problematic icons. Hopefully they're more viewable than the mess I made last night.

Much better!

A bit of the TomGuycott sampler platter.
Really just trying this out, because the transparent PNGs were giving me trouble and I don't know whether they were centering correctly.
Actually didn't turn out that bad, the only flubs were these:

Mana Beast
Tetron Gateau
Doom
Gatling Robo
Generalissimo Lioness

They seem solid to me - my advice is that you set up a macro (if you're using photoshop) to Trim (Image > Trim...) transparent pixels, and then set the canvas size to the icon size. This will centre your sprite for you.

Used gimp, it seems to get wonky when I use the move tool, but I can usually see the proper way it comes out in the preview.

So, after doing a bit more thinking, we've decided to make model icons count as 2 to account for the added difficulty in making them (as well as the fact that you're actually uploading two files, even if you can make them from a single render).

That's because, at the moment, you're submitting samples. Posts to this thread aren't actually part of the contest, which you need to be specifically invited to via PM to participate in. Only then will you appear on the stats page.

You icons do seem to be up to scratch now though, SJB - would you like to participate fully?
Take into account that some of the icons in your zip of course aren't to the high standard, so don't upload those ones.

Sure, I'd like to participate fully. Now that I at least know what I'm doing.
Only with the newer ones I've been uploading. The ones in that zip file can go into the trash.

Some game icons aren't removing the red text background after I've submitted icons for all the sheets, at least not directly after submitting them. I submitted all needed icons for Arkanoid DS, Astro Boy: The Video Game and Advance Wars: Dual Strike a couple of days ago, and the background wasn't removed right away. Today I checked and the former 2 are fixed, but the latter still has the red text background.

Don't worry if it's not marked as "completed" right away, as there's literally 2,546 games that aren't finished up yet. If Dazz or I come across one that's all done, we'll review the icons and mark it off.

So, any other way I can help then?
