Though the leak is fake, I still have reason to believe Rayman is likely to be DLC. The red herring that got us hyped for him and we instead got Lucina and Robin being one of them, the 3 trophies (though W101 has 7), his legacy, current reputation, how he fits in the roster and the fact that the roster was final 2 years ago, which could've caused a "Snake for Melee" situation.
I'm not holding my breath though. I'm more than content with Mewtwo.

I've been reasoning along these same lines for a while now that Rayman will be DLC and was intended for on-disc. Three trophies is really strange for an unrepresented franchise, let alone a third-party.

Also, W101's intellectual property is owned by Nintendo. That puts in a different league to Rayman, as far as trophy count to player rep.

But while we're speculating from trophies, how would everybody feel if Sakurai rolled out a Commander Video DLC?

It was explained that the Commander Video trophy represents Nintendo's relationship with Indie developers. The only thing about Rayman's trophies is that they were created by Ubisoft. First of all, that doesn't explain why and second, it's Ubisoft's time and money that went into these just for trophies. It makes sense that they'll earn back that money and profit from Rayman DLC.

Cripes, that guy is talented -- certainly had a lot of us (including me) fooled. Kudos to him for shattering the hopes and dreams of the few people who wanted Rayman included in the game.

I think it's pretty damn amazing myself. I mean, he played most of the internet with this whole shebang, and the process certainly doesn't look like something that happens overnight. A well planned, well executed hoax. It just goes to show how many people actually believe every little thing they see on the internet xD. "Pics or it didn't happen." used to be the requirement for something to be validated, but now it became videos. Now, I think videos will need more content to be validated, like gameplay footage.
