that's because SSB is a Nintendo game.
I get that but what I mean is that it would be cool to see some more characters from different franchises aside from pokemon or mario characters, which I'm pretty sure will happen anyways.

Sega: Sonic........
Nintendo: Mario, Luigi, Wario, Peach........
Pokemon: Mewtwo, Pikachu, Charizard, thatPokemonThatLooksKindaLikeMewtwoExceptHeWearsABlackAndHasAScarfAndIsColoredDifferently.....
???????
Oh, I thought this was a joke post. Honestly, a single rep for a third party series is more than plenty. SSB is all about the Nintendo all-stars, it makes no sense to cater to outside franchises.
I wanted Majin Buu but everyone voted for Goku.
Say what you will about any of the 3rd party suggestions in this thread, but one suggestion that makes no sense is the Devs of Super Meat Boy tweeting how he'd be awesome in Smash.
A character with no Nintendo history (as far as I know, please correct me if this was on WiiWare) from a dev who I'm pretty sure has little or no Nintendo history... Yeah, out of all the third party suggestions going out, this one is by far the most baseless.
About the new character voting: I'm a cynical bastard and I'm gonna bet that Nintendo's likely gonna go with a 1st party character, and at that I'd say it's also gonna most likely be someone within a franchise that's already represented player-wise in Sm4sh.
I'd love for a 3rd party character or even an unrepresented 1st party franchise, don't get me wrong here (if Banjo-Kazooie got in I would be the happiest I've ever been in years); I'm just trying to think realistically here.

Imagine how that would be in an actual fight in smash.
>Goku stands still
>*smash character here* attempts to attack
>Goku does some hyper dodging shit
>*smash character here* stops attacking
>Goku uses Kamehameh
>*smash character here* instantly KOed
>Time elapsed: 10 seconds
Either this or Goku would have his power level dropped ALL THE WAY DOWN TO, like, just so the others could keep up.

Smash is already balanced for power... I don't think there's any realistic way half of the characters could compete with Samus...
If Smash wasn't balanced, Mario characters footstools would send you to 300%, and the bros' back throw would be instant death~

Yeah. Nintendo has more than just Mario and Pokemon you know. In fact they have a humongous library of franchises to pull a character from. Take a look:

Woah! I never knew of even 1/4 of these titles. I guess I understand what you guys mean now lol.
That, and you can literally have a kid with a bug net defeat GOD, her angel, and the walking apocalypse that is Kirby.
Is it possible to tell someone's a giant prick based on how he or she plays? Because when I played online yesterday, I had the greatest time fighting what could easily be my Smash rival in 1 v 1 For Glory, having lost more often than I won. I didn't care, I had fun. It felt as if I was honing my skills sparring with him.
But today I faced someone of equal, maybe tad greater ability, but he frustrated the shit out of me. It felt as if I was playing against a dick, but it's impossible to tell aside from his playstyle and changing his name to "Hahaha". "Hahaha" might seem like a give-away, but it's still hard to tell the intended tone. Either way, instead of calmly accepting my defeat and psyching myself up for the next match, I just raged. What the fuck is going on? Is it me? I'm starting to feel the DLC is eating away my patience, but that would be such a childish excuse.
I already told my mother I only rage at CPU players, not at human players. Now I have to tell her I lied. Shame is had.
